Its the BBC. They are aware of the problem and are doing everything thay can to fix it.
Apparently.

Its been happening all week, its linked to the ipod thing that has gone wrong too, I think.

That's interesting . Tried to watch first episode of Upstairs Downstairs via Wii on Sunday but gave up and had assumed it was our new bb. Perhaps not.

It's the programme struggling to stream. You can sometimes help it by pausing it for a few minutes to let it 'catch up'. Sometimes it's caused by a bandwidth problem in which case you're better off downloading the iplayer desktop then downloading the programme onto that before you watch it. Instructions for that are on the iplayer website.

......or it could be a current glitch with iplayer....

thank you. OUr bandwidth is pants at the moment so it's likely it's that then.

My iplayer jumps back to the beginning all the time on my iPad, usually at a really good part of a programme. I presumed it was my broadband. Maybe it's not?

I've been having problems with the iplayer via a BT vision box and I thought the box was broken but maybe not. Its really annoying either way.
