What happened to Mercedes' baby? Or is it like Friends-Rachel's baby that was never in a scene unless relevant?

She said to the baby that as the boyfriend/footballer didnt love her she couldnt love the baby then handed the baby to footballer/boyfriend as frisky said.

I know it's not relevant, but I think that Mercedes and, to a lesser extent, Jackie are beautiful.

Good God that girl has had a traumatic life. 3 failed marriages, a dead sister and now she's given her baby away.
