GreenEyesAndHam · 07/03/2012 22:16

I love this programme Grin

Tiredtrout · 07/03/2012 22:17

Watching tonights, nearly a third character in it. Poor Val is too good for Roger. She was a genius last week making a false tooth out of a clove of garlic

GreenEyesAndHam · 07/03/2012 22:19

"gooooo- d - byeeeeeeee"

Tiredtrout · 07/03/2012 22:32

I think I need help

mycatsaysach · 08/03/2012 21:17

WeShouldOpenABar · 09/03/2012 12:52

oh i thought i was the only one watching!
I love it , I laugh out loud every episode which is rare, then they make me want to cry , which is even rarer.

I want a marriage like Roger and Val , minus the elephant in the rooom

GreenEyesAndHam · 14/03/2012 22:03

mycatsaysach · 15/03/2012 01:38

Grin after your posts i was expecting something major tragedy wise to happen

OP posts:
AitchTwoOhOneTwo · 15/03/2012 01:44

why did you want a tragedy to happen? it's not that type of show, is it? i cried buckets, and i say that having watched it twice.

mycatsaysach · 15/03/2012 08:27

i didn't want a tragedy i just thought that was how it was heading - it is full of pathos

OP posts:
AitchTwoOhOneTwo · 15/03/2012 09:05

so you were disappointed that there wasn't a tragedy? i don't understand.

DaisySteiner · 15/03/2012 10:42

I thought the ending was perfect. Unfortunately I ruined it for myself by Googling Alfred Molina just before the end and so wasn't concentrating properly Sad Still made me well up though. Loved it

piprabbit · 15/03/2012 14:12

I think that last night's Roger and Val was probably my perfect TV moment.

The two series had been so full of a sense of lives and opportunities shrinking with time, that they were stuck in their routines and this was how it was going to be until they died.

The ending last night was like a blossoming of hope, new possibilities and joy. Just the last few seconds of the programme opened doors that had seemed to have been locked forever.

I cried all evening and then told DH about it and cried again.

Ohh Sad

Loved this programme.
What a lovely ending....sobbed.

Echocave · 16/03/2012 00:45

Just watched this and really loved it. Thought the happy ending might turn out to be a fantasy sequence (v glad it wasn't!).
Some TV critics were a bit sniffy about the first episode, accusing it of being manipulative and the emotion overworked but I disagree. The script was brilliant, the performances amazing and some of it laugh out loud funny.
My favourite bits were the hysterical reaction to the appearance of the second plastic swimmer and the reenactment of the Pam Bagnall speech in the last episode. Hilarious.

CamperWidow · 16/03/2012 14:05

Oh god, I've just sobbed at the last one! That was so perfect for them both! Keep crying whenever I think about it!
