A programme interviewing parents of children who have been involved in the summer riots last year.

Am I missing something because some of those parents don't seem to have a major problem with their child being involved in the riots.

Am I about to get piled upon now?? Confused

Felt very sorry for the girl (Danielle) and her mum. All she had done was enter a shop that others had already broken into, pick up a pair of trainers and then drop them once outside. Ok she shouldn't have touched them or gone in the shop, it was wrong/foolish, but she hardly deserved to get 10 months. Seems very harsh, at the age of 18 as a first time offender. Sadly her future prospects are seriously messed up now. Can't help thinking some of the sentencing was politically motivated.

Some of the other kids I had little sympathy for though, was it Ryan or Lei who said enthusiastically 'everyone was working together with one aim". The interviewer: "Which was?" Ryan/Lei "to get some stuff for free". And he thought that was a legitimate political protest!
