Too late to watch now, but if you are of a 'certain age' try to catch the BBC4 Imagine program on iplayer; great interviews and classic music from the S & G albums.

oooh, thanks, Bproud

(am very much of a certain age Grin)

Ponders · 20/01/2012 23:15

I was in New York in 1981 when they did the concert in Central Park, but didn't know about it so didn't go Sad

if only we'd had the interweb then...

ByTheSea · 21/01/2012 15:43

I was at the Concert in Central Park. It was brilliant. I love Simon and Garfunkel! I have the program recorded on Sky+.

Ponders · 21/01/2012 15:52

I've got the DVD, BTS - means I can see them better, probably Smile but it would have been nice to be there...

mind you I was 3 months pregnant at the time so would probably have fallen asleep halfway through!

CeliaFate · 22/01/2012 18:12

I love Simon and Garfunkel! Always imagined them to be slightly dull in person, so it'll be interesting to see them being interviewed.

Ponders · 22/01/2012 18:29

PS is not exactly dull, but quietly spoken & very laid back - comes across as a really nice & intelligent guy

AG, otoh, is rather full of himself - I wanted to punch him a few times Grin

tribpot · 22/01/2012 18:31

Oooh, definitely putting this on the iPlayer list. I love S&G.

ThePathanKhansWitch · 22/01/2012 18:33

My thoughts as well Ponders. For years i was under the impression AG was the musical songwriting talent. Not so. PS is a very cool guy. AG wanna be intellectual with no curly hair anymore.

BackforGood · 22/01/2012 18:36

Thanks for pointing us in this direction - I never tend to 'peruse' what's on on BBC4. Will go and search it out this evening Smile

(Am definitely of a certain age Wink)

Clawdy · 22/01/2012 19:41

Saw them at the M.E.N Arena a few years ago..absolute magic. AG did most of the chat and seemed very warm and charming. But yes,the curls are gone! Smile

carlajean · 22/01/2012 21:37

love the music, and an interesting programme, but surely I'm not the only person who thought PS looked terrible - too much plastic surgery IMO

Ponders · 22/01/2012 21:46

His top lip was always like that Grin

I didn't detect plastic surgery, I think he's attempted a hair implant a la Elton though - he's stopped wearing a baseball cap all the time anyway - but not very successful!

BackforGood · 22/01/2012 23:43

I've just been watching (on Catch Up) PS in concert, from Friday night. Must be a S&G Weekend Fest!

Ponders · 22/01/2012 23:53

there were 2 concerts!

one BBC one, one in NY - plus the Imagine programme - so yes, def a Paul Simon Fest

Cassidee · 23/01/2012 00:18

Oh, yes, the Imagine prog was fab. Imagine can be brilliant.
