Where are EE going with Derek?

I am bored of him already. What's the story here? Have I missed something?

He is been in jail for 10 years and trying to establish his familiy hes horrible and just a rubbish character , i dunno if they are trying to do that old eastend gangster thing , im not sure of the whole back story yet obviously he had something going on with pat but i dont think it was anything to do with david getting carol pregnant , anyhoo i hope he isnt around long , Oh and jamie foremans (derek) dad was freddie foreman an east end gangster around the same time as the kray twins EEEK i wonder if thats where he gets his acting motivation ,

I really hate these pantomime east end villain characters. And the fact that people just pop up as new family members who had never been mentioned before....

I had high hopes for him. Really thought he would be menacing and a real good badie. Hes rubbish. He is quite a camp badie and not a very good actor. Get rid quick i say. David on the other hand, yum

I like how you say he is camp he really is isnt he not tough at all , his criminal activities have included fireworks stolen although the b n b did suffer and nicked vodka . Hardly top end gangster i want David to rub his face in the dirt shirtless david not derek !

I like Derek I do find him scary :)

And him, Jack and Max are brothers. I can see the family resemblence not.

He is unhinged im wondering if its his 10 years in jail and he has lost control of his familiy and hes a bit old school and the rest have moved on ( yes i do realise its not real life ! )

I too had the same thought. What's the point of him.

He just gets in the way of good scenes.

OH i do hope they do a who shot derek thing then david can do it and come back , im really clutching at straws that david will come back , and what was the cap about , I was waiting for him to burst into some cockney song ,
