I thought The Hustle was back on Friday?

I was sure that The Hustle was back on the Beeb on Friday 6 Jan. In fact, I thought I recalled setting it to record on my Sky+ box (although I AM pregnant so may well have imagined it Confused)

Anyone know where it's gone?

It's been pushed back because of the programmes last night on Stephen Lawrence.

Sevenfold · 04/01/2012 21:45

why?

MollieO · 04/01/2012 21:51

Because they had to find room in the schedule for a programme that was not planned to air yesterday. Is that what you mean asking why? I assume you know about the verdict?

Sevenfold · 04/01/2012 21:52

how bizarre, but then I hate those programmes that they suddenly show to cash in

Biscuitsandtea · 04/01/2012 21:53

Oooh, I see. Yes I saw that prog last night. So presumably this 'Public Enemies' thing that's on on Friday instead has been shifted back by a day.

Thank you Smile

I assume you are joking Sevenfold? If so it is in extremely poor taste.

Sevenfold · 04/01/2012 21:56

why? they shove a programme about a tragic thing on the tv at short notice, to cash in on it.
why is it bad taste to say that?

MollieO · 04/01/2012 21:59

How is it 'cashing in'? Really don't get your logic. It is a high profile news story and as such is worthy of interrupting tv schedules to cover. Not sure what paper you read but it was on the front page of every UK paper today.

Sevenfold · 04/01/2012 22:00

oh do grow up ffs, no need to get all silly about it. I can say that I think these programmes are cashing in.

wheredidiputit · 04/01/2012 22:03

It's on BBC one HD friday at 9pm.

MollieO · 04/01/2012 22:04

Cashing in implies something distasteful imho. I don't see how reporting a verdict of a major murder trial is distasteful.

We shall have to agree to differ and you can get back to important tv programmes like Hustle Xmas Hmm

Sevenfold · 04/01/2012 22:07

I will try to explain
the news covered the verdict
the BBC shoved in a programme at short notice, why?
to get viewers.
to cash in

MollieO · 04/01/2012 22:12

BBC and ITV. I doubt they got any more viewers than the programmes they replaced.

Biscuitsandtea · 04/01/2012 22:13

WheredidIputit - my sky planner shows Public Enemies on BBC HD at 9 on Friday?

OP posts:
Sevenfold · 04/01/2012 22:23

I have worked it out..
public enemies was over 3 nights so they had to show it over 3 nights this week,
Hustle one night so they can just bump it.

MollieO · 04/01/2012 22:35

Weirdly the writer of Public Enemies, Tony Marchant, didn't mind at all that his slot on Radio 5 Live discussing his new programme was bumped from yesterday to today. That was despite him going to the studio yesterday and everything and he had to go back today, and change what he had planned to do today. I now see that as a particularly selfless act.

wheredidiputit · 05/01/2012 10:16

It's on BBC ONE HD not BBC HD. I don't u

wheredidiputit · 05/01/2012 10:17

Sorry ds helpedHmm.

As I was trying to say I don't understand why bbc has 2 hd channels.

Biscuitsandtea · 05/01/2012 13:17

ah - i'll check the planner again......

Biscuitsandtea · 05/01/2012 14:38

Nope still shows public enemies on BBC One HD at 9 on Fri, BBC HD has something about Sicily Hmm.

I read elsewhere though that it's been moved back to next Friday instead? So hopefully it'll pop up on the planner tomorrow Smile
