I really can't bear to sit through all of Mamma Mia (I have tried and managed just until Meryl Streep started to massacre an ABBA song sing) so can someone please tell me which of the 3 men is the dad?

Richard Gere

They decide that they all like the idea of being her father (and she likes all of them) so they all agree not to have a blood test and to just share the role.

Thank you!

I've just tried to watch it - gave up very quickly - I had no idea it was so bad, I was cringing.

You really need to watch it in a packed cinema with lots of loud females....and don't say you can sit through "Slipping through my fingers" without a few tears.....!

KurriKurri · 04/01/2012 20:57

I love "Slipping through my Fingers" I cannot get through it without shedding a tear or two, and I shamelessly love abba, but those awful squeaking girls at the start and the acting Shock dreadful.

GentleOtter · 04/01/2012 20:58

I have never seen it before but it is like Last of the Summer Wine with feta.

AgathaCrusty · 04/01/2012 20:59

Thank goodness I'm not the only one who can't watch it without a few tears. Think it's something to do with having a daughter getting close to leaving home.

Fuzzywuzzywozabear · 04/01/2012 22:05

Piers brosnan is the father I seem to remember

GentleOtter · 04/01/2012 22:09

The scene getting the daughter ready for her wedding and the song finished me off.

And the scenery was beautiful.

yes definitely emotional after seeing slipping through my fingers. I remember watching at the cinema with ED and practically crying. she is now 18.

Piers brossman's singing is terrible but I think it is a great film.
