Or Roy...he does first aid, doesn't he? Or where was the dishy doctor dumped by Tina? Or the police officer who Tyrone has shacked up with, police do delivering babies don't they?

katkitya · 24/12/2011 00:03

Its a joke. Anna was acting like she knew what she was doing, I thought she may have been a midwife before she started working at Roys.

What is the big Christmas story line?

Poor Becky.

whatkungfuthat · 24/12/2011 16:18

Poor Becky indeed but who gets the feeling she's is going to stick it to Tracey and go out on a high? (sorry to hijack). Don't Corrie have a tradition of xmas babies being born in random places and delivered by anyone who is passing?

gregssausageroll · 26/12/2011 09:24

I hope Dierdrie will come through for Becky in the end.

whatkungfuthat · 26/12/2011 14:21

I hope so gregs, looks like Kylie is going to wade in too. That Eileen business is getting on my tits and I'm sure they did something similar in Brookside.

Clawdy · 26/12/2011 16:42

Deirdre never ever betrays Tracey,no matter what she does. Becky has no chance of help from that quarter. Hope I'm wrong.though!

meditrina · 26/12/2011 16:52

Please, please, please someone in the know tell me that they're not really planning to install Stella et al in the Rovers as owners? I have not taken to them whatsoever and, despite touching on what ought to have been serious story lines, they are coming across as superficial and lightweight.

whatkungfuthat · 26/12/2011 18:10

Nah, Steve will find out (probably from the hotel receptionist where Tracey went batshit, who will remember his name when he goes to sign the contract) and call off the sale, and I have a sneaking suspicion that Carl's gambling habit will have something to do with them not actually buying it first. I don't know anything, just guessing.

mondayschild · 26/12/2011 18:44

I think Marcus is meant to be in London with Sean visiting Dylan. What I didn't understand though was how Chesney and Gary managed to get there on bikes after being lost in the middle of nowhere before the ambulance arrived. I know the emergency services are overstretched at this time of year but come on ...
Generally thought it was a bit rubbish for them to essentially recycle an old Vicar of Dibley plot. Also think there should be a moratorium on Christmas soap babies for at least ten years as it is such an overused 'twist' (if you can still call it that).

MurielTheActor · 26/12/2011 19:28

But everything was worth it for Sylvia and her ukebanjo Grin

EdithWeston · 27/12/2011 05:04

Xmas babies is a Corrie tradition - but there hasn't been one for quite a while.

Some festive babies: Christmas Eve, Rosie Webster (in the back of a cab in Rosamund Street, hence the name) and David Platt on Christmas Day - I thought the same year: we've just had his 21st Birthday, but Rosie's seems to have gone unmarked); Christmas Day, Billy had Becky Mallet: Boxing Day, Ben Watts (on Curly's sofa with Norris in attendance): New Year's Eve, Nick Tilsley: New Year's Day, Katie MacDonald (premature and who did not survive).

javo · 27/12/2011 10:15

Reckon the new Danny bloke who is giving Steve and Becky a cab contract will mention to Becky about the lady at the hotel having a miscarriage (probably just as Steve is about to marry Tracy).

thegingerwhinger · 27/12/2011 10:41

I wondered if the police would get access to Tracey's medical files and find out that she had the miscarriage before the stairs incident. I hope that Steve finds out about Tracy's lies before Becky leaves.

gregssausageroll · 27/12/2011 10:49

Me too ginger.

Also, Katie went out with the girls last night which was Boxing Day on Corrie having had the baby on Christmas Eve. I struggled to get from the sofa to the bathroom at day 2.

katkitya · 27/12/2011 18:48

Oh, Im loving Roys mother!! Smile I wonder when Milton is going to make an appearance?

Im just watching last nights now. Blooming Mary when she offers to inspire Norris, "it will be like the film, The Piano" Oh, we need more of this crowd. Much more.

EdithWeston · 27/12/2011 22:26

I'd heard that younger mothers do bounce back from parturition faster than old bags like me, but I thought that was improbably quick too.

Mary is better when she is OTT crazed spinster, rather than slightly cardboard wasp (which she has tipped a bit far towards in places), but a Piano-type passion could be nicely unsettling for Norris.

I worry that an actual Milton might not be as rewarding as a theoretical one, though.

whatkungfuthat · 28/12/2011 08:10

I wish I could remember who I heard was playing Milton

EdithWeston · 28/12/2011 11:27

Casting for Milton. (Done as a link in case anyone who didn't see the announcement, doesn't want to know).

whatkungfuthat · 28/12/2011 12:33

Thanks Edith, I remember then didn't want to post for the same reason!

whatkungfuthat · 28/12/2011 12:33

*remembered

EssexGurl · 28/12/2011 14:57

Think Marcus and Sean were having Christmas with his child (whose name I can't remember) in London.
