Please recommend a good DVD to watch on my birthday :)

It's my 30th bday next week . I'm hoping to take the afternoon off baby duties and curl up on the sofa with a hot choc and a good dvd, ahhhhh bliss. But as yet, no DVD. I have no idea what to get. I want something not to complicated for my little brain and not too long.

If it helps the last DVD I saw was kings speech. I like most stuff but not action/fighty type things.

Hmm, without knowing what you've seen it's quite difficult. Have you seen the Holiday? Gorgeously Christmassy without actually being about Christmas, plus Jude Law actually looking as attractive as people think he is for once...

Another good one is Never Let Me Go, although that's a bit thought provoking so might not be what you're after.

Super 8, was quite nice.

Anything with Cary Grant?

Or the Apartment or The Philidelphia story ( also Cary Grant) {grin}

That I can remember I have enjoyed: shutter island, the vanishing (original foreign version), let the right one in, precious, julie and julia, the reader, alfred hitchcock presents..., the kite runner, the lives of others, buried, there have been a few good other foreign ones but I forget the names .

I just looked up 'the next three days' which is a remake of a french film I enjoyed and wondering whether to give that a go
