Is it possible that he is Sahara's (how on earth do you spell her name?) father? I am trying to do the maths and I suppose that it is possible. His love for her seems paternal to me...

In real life he is 51 and she is 40...but I know they can shift around things like that. But it would make sense of a few things, especially the pained expression he had on his face when the Munchausen patient berated him about not having children. A passionate ill-judged affair with her Sahara's mother - the last reckless thing he ever did?

I might be wrong and he might simply want to bonk her. But I do love the character of Hendrik...to me it's the only reason that I watch the show. Mind you, all my illusions were shattered when I met him at a party and he was as camp as Christmas. But still, interesting character.

I was thinking that in HC he is meant to be about 50-55 and she is meant to be about 35.

At first I thought they were secretly married and he was the husband that we never got to see.

Or did we? What's her son called?

I'm toying with him being the father of her son.

He's always banging on about 'her choice to have children' and how it would hinder her career so maybe they had a thing in the past, she got pregnant and they parted. He was her mentor at one time pre-Holby so would have advised her not to damage her career by having a child.

Now he regrets not staying with her and being a family.
