I think it's because deep down you know you can't be really really bitchy about 16 and 17 year olds. It's gloves off when it's adults, but these are kids and to be honest I'm stunned at how mature and articulate they all are. Damn them! :o

Yup, much the same here. I still watch it but that enjoyable hate factor just isn't there. I think because the adults act like clueless 16 year olds and that makes it funny, but when they actually are 16 it just falls a bit flat.
