(BBC2 9-10pm Sunday 20th: part 1 of 2)

Anyone watching?

It's an amazing programme. What the medics do to save lives that a decade or so would have been lost is incredible. And the techniques used there are coming back to NHS, improving the trauma care and pain management procedures for all off us.

I have huge admiration for what all those medics are doing.

I really enjoyed it. What amazing work the medics do and it shows again the sacrifices made by those in the armed forces. Interested to watch the second part next week.

That's what I used to do!

Well then you are amazing Smile it was wonderful to see the hard work and the push to innovate
And do sad to see the cost, and they are still so young they have potentially a long life ahead full of challenges, the need for support continues

sfxmum: the second part will cover advances in rehab.

It was amazing to see the advances in trauma care that is saving the lives of so more people. And the expectation that everyone who makes it alive to Bastion will survive and make it home.

The tannoy announcement of "Minimise" made be shiver, though.

advances in rehab will surely happen but I meant things to back it up, like re training, housing, psychological support services and so on, it is a huge cost for the future

meditrina · 24/11/2011 00:30

If anyone is awake and interested, it's being repeated now on BBC2.

scaevola · 27/11/2011 20:03

Part two - about rehabilitation - is being shown tonight at 9pm on BBC 2.
