He's on Something for the Weekend. Love him. But have only just switched on and ten minutes to go.....

OP posts:
HedleyLamarr · 20/11/2011 12:31

He was very funny just being his usual idiot self.

Sparklingbrook · 20/11/2011 12:39

Another thing to look for on I player. I don't usually watch SFTW as Tim and Louise make me want to throw things at the TV

He is brilliant isn't he? I always watch SFTW, not keen on Tim, but Louise is so delightfully thick and Simon so deliciously gorgeous I can block Tim out.

SixStringWidowTwankey · 21/11/2011 10:31

Love Karl Pilkington!

Mr. Dilkington Grin

Hammy02 · 21/11/2011 13:01

Mr Dilkington! Love it. I watched that bit over and over and it still makes me laugh. Agree that Louise is thick as mince. She is very pretty but she is soooo thick it distracts from that.

Sparklingbrook · 21/11/2011 13:18

Tim Lovejoy is such an idiot though. I was cringing when they had to call a halt to the Santa conversation and Karl was insinuating Louise's kids were spoilt!!

I love Karl Pilkington, will look for it on iplayer

TheFoosa · 21/11/2011 13:44

don't know what Something for the weekend is, but KP having his prostate checked on An Idiot Abroad was the funniest thing I've seen all year

kreecherlivesupstairs · 21/11/2011 13:47

Must buy the series. We've got the first one but DD would love the second.
KP is very brave, he ate the toad in the first series [vom].
He said on SFTW that he numbed his taste buds with strepsils in order to eat a three year old fish.

Sparklingbrook · 21/11/2011 17:19

TheFoosa you have missed nowt if you haven't seen Something For The Weekend. Sunday morning BBC2 10am. The presenters are vacuous and usually ruin any interview by asking inane questions. I usually check in just to see the guests.

OP posts:
TheFoosa · 21/11/2011 18:57

I watched it, unfortunately

hour and a half as well!

How LR get that job is beyond me

Sparklingbrook · 21/11/2011 19:02

It could be so much better. A couple of decent presenters for a start. Somehow they manage to get some decent guests on though.

Queenkong · 21/11/2011 19:15

Louise's grammar infuriates me. I can't watch her. "Was you excited about getting the part?" and "do I put them raisins in the batter?" Argh. Luckily, she is often away probably filming more gut churningly smug adverts for thompsons or nintendo with her ridiculously good looking family.

Sparklingbrook · 21/11/2011 19:21

Aleesha Dixon school of grammar Queenkong!

OP posts:
kreecherlivesupstairs · 21/11/2011 22:50

But she is so pretty Grin and I was thrilled to see her wearing the same a similar nail varnish colour to me [vacuous] and [shallow]

Sparklingbrook · 21/11/2011 22:53

Bet the conversations in the Redknapp household are very highbrow......

OP posts:
kreecherlivesupstairs · 21/11/2011 23:40

Of similarly stratospheric levels to those in the upstairs house.
I know nothing of Mr Redknapp other than he is a footballer. She seems to love her boys though.

Sparklingbrook · 21/11/2011 23:47

Yes I'm sure they are both v. nice, but she really shouldn't be presenting. I think Mr Redknapp is now a footy commentator/pundit and wears v.v. tight trousers. Grin

OP posts:
kreecherlivesupstairs · 21/11/2011 23:56

No idea. I honestly mainly watch it for Simon Rimmer.

Sparklingbrook · 21/11/2011 23:57

I actually like him and the cocktail man!

OP posts:
Queenkong · 22/11/2011 08:33

I agree Rimmer and Wayne are the best things on the show. Alex from the One Show filled in for Louise a little while ago and really showed Louise and Tim up. She was much cleverer and wittier than either of them. Plus she actually ate the food. Louise gets on my nerves with her 'I don't eat red meat', 'I couldn't possibly manage that rich creamy dessert' and 'ooh that cocktail is a bit strong for an ickle girl like me' schtik. And the way she makes such a huge fuss out of not being able to cook, like it's the funniest joke ever for a woman not to be able to cook. Why present a frigging cookery show then? Grrr.

kreecherlivesupstairs · 22/11/2011 08:54

Grin that's just the way she is.
I am undecided about Wayne TBH. I think he went to my school.

Sparklingbrook · 22/11/2011 09:14

I saw the episode when a celeb (can't remember who) was cooking and they tried to wash their hands but the tap isn't connected to water-it's just for show. Confused
