Anyone have spoilers for the soap Christmas story lines?

I'm waiting for things to be set up in all the soaps ready for the big Christmas reveals but I haven't noticed anything yet?

Blimey I've not watched the soaps for years but had to click on this thread to see if things have changed, but no, they are full of doom and gloom for Xmas.

Why do they do this? Xmas is often when people are missing loved ones they've lost, feeling lonely if they have no family around etc so turn to the TV for distraction and find these types of storylines.

Sorry, not trying to drag the thread down but genuinely wondered why.

Oh for a happy Christmas in soap land. I like Pat. Don't usually watch Emerdale but know Marlon a nice guy. As for the Tanya storyline - shame on Eastenders...

Corrie is (allegedly) aiming for a heartwarming Christmas, with an Xmas dinner cook off between Rita and Emily. Gary Windass sells dodgy Christmas trees, and he and Chesney dress up as elves for a party a the community centre. During which Katie goes into labour (keeping up great soap tradition of Christmas babies), and it looks as if she might deliver before arriving at the hospital.

Sian and Sophie are getting married - as Sophie was born in 1994, and is therefore still 17, it won't be legal without parental consent which I wouldn't expect to be forthcoming. A bodged story-line? Pix of the matching meringue dresses look really good, though.

There are also thoroughly tedious looking upcoming storylines for Michelle and Kieran, Becky (Max, Kylie, David yawn) and Peter and Carla.

the fire in EE is part of a DV/honour killing storyline for zainab and dr death.

Didn't he try and kill her before in a fire? I thought that was why she had those scars.

Any happiness and joy in EastEnders for Christmas?!

Yes, although my understanding is that he has convinced zainab that he was not there when the fire was set and was scarred trying to save her (although behind her back, it sounds as if he's setting her up to finish the job he started with the fire the first time around). He seems to be systematically tearing up her family almost to ensure she is not saved this time.

Does she die then? I didn't watch EE for months so I missed most of this storyline, I started again around the time Amira came back.

I hope Simon Wicks comes back for Pat's funeral.

re.Emmerdale Haven't read anything about Marlon happening and I think that would be bigger news.

Amy has her baby,Cain gets beaten up. Not sure what else is on the way.

Still unhappy with Tania story line if she is going to die.
Surely the hospital doctor would offer more support/ get counsellor/ not just shrug and go to office after 2min chat. [Ok just die then- bye bye].
Ok it's a soap but it is a serious issue and I don't like the way EE are dealing with it at all.

I dont think Tanya is going to die she will get back on track i think thats what this weeks story is about , I dont think shes had that much of a colourful life has she ? although she was Bradleys babysitter when max pounced YUCK ,

Heather is apparently murdered in the New Year. Pat dies on NYE.

Tanya doesn't die. She was on a morning thing a few weeks back as her contract has been extended.

Max comes back with Derek (who has been doing the photos and phone calls).

Tamwar gets badly burnt and his wife (forget her name) finds it very difficult to deal with. I think his face is badly burnt.

*2boys" yes i know poor hev , I think tanya is reacting badly to her friend dying the other week she thought she was on the mend , and shes in shock , and remember it is EE and they always exagerate real life , Why is the new branning brother doing the photies and phone calls to phill ? Im not into all this extended familiy nonsense first the moons now the brannings . The soap lady on this morning has writted a zayneb and dr death storyline , I hope its all over soon cos its doing my head in .

how come the brannings have got so big? carol said last night that she had 2(or 3) sisters and 3 brothers.

I dont think tanya died i hate the gangster brother already hes proper eastend as porcamiseria said kray twinish , I wonder what his connection with pat is hes an obvious racist etc , and max his side kick , urgh i hate max branning he makes my skin crawl , even when the actor was on tv yesterday i cringed , I think the masood story is good but gone on to long , Dr kahn is just a long line of enders baddies I think the fact they are muslim its irrelivant look at lucas last year he couldve shown christians in a bad light what with his murdering rants
