don't miss this fascinating insight into the struggle on board the plane that went down in PA.

Saw in on Sky last week - excellent

I saw this advertised, but didn't think I would be able to deal with it TBH. Presumably it was incredibly emotional.

hunkermunker · 03/01/2006 20:44

Which channel, Jools?

harktheheraldAIMSMUMsings · 03/01/2006 20:46

i'm reading "102 minutes" just now, the account from people inside the towers as the planes hit.

It is horrible reading it and knowing that they didn't make it out

JoolsToo · 03/01/2006 21:35

channel 5 hunker on Thursday at 9.00 pm - it's a re-enactment but you hear actual phone calls made from the plane. Family and friends of the victims appear.

Of course, it's very sad but it's a remarkable story too.

I definitely recommend it.

I think that the people on this plane were very , very brave. The man who was central to organising the fight back spent time in the run up praying with one of the stewardesses, to help her. Very brave people.

SueW · 05/01/2006 18:39

I saw half of it when we were in the US last summer but it was continued on a different channel which our hotel didn't have! On searching for alternative options for viewing it, I came across all sorts of controversy about what happened on the flight which weren't such a great sotry. Such things must be very hurtful to the families concerned.

shellybelly · 05/01/2006 18:47

whilst one of half of me wants to watch it, I think this week there have been so many awful things happened in the news that I need something that isn't going to depress me

bring on boston legal

JoolsToo · 05/01/2006 18:50

record it - its sad but uplifting at the same time.

Sue - the families are interviewed and involved in the programme.

anyone read the book 'the new pearl harbour' by david ray griffin? one of the theories behind what happened on this plane is that it was shot down with a missile to prevent it being flown into a building.

looking at the debris field from this plane that was supposedly crashed into the ground, it seems likely - as say opposed to video footage of other debris fields from other planes that crashed into the ground.

griffin also has a followup called 'the 9/11 commission report'

here

biglips · 05/01/2006 21:35

i still cant believed it happens

Nbg · 05/01/2006 21:38

I'm recording it although I don't know if I will be able to watch it

JoolsToo · 05/01/2006 21:40

this programme is good at dispelling the 'shot down' theory

roisin · 05/01/2006 22:35

Very powerful - thanks for the recommendation Jools.

Blandmum · 06/01/2006 16:44

kiskidee, this conspiracy theory has been debunked as the plane was seen by eye witnesses flying into the ground intact. This would not have happened if it had been hit by a missile.

Nbg · 07/01/2006 18:25

Just watched it and it was very sad but a good ending to it. Quite uplifting in a way.
