I think there are references to the Polar Express too, his pj's, bedroom furniture etc.I don't think they are all as sinister as folks make out.

I thought the wizard was Fantasia actually, the same hat as Mickey Mouse. He's dressed like Kevin in Home Alone outside too, and there are definitely references to those movies.
