I know a Cheryl who pronounces it with a "CH" too. I wonder if it is a regional variation?

I pronounce it CH as well, surely SH would be spelt Sheryl? I'm oop north too so maybe there is a difference?

My best friend at primary school (London, Londoner parents) was CHeryl. SHeryl sounds wrong to me - akin to bouquet instead of bucket.

I'm also Northern and after a Small experiment have found that pronouncing it as CHeryl feels all wrong to me.
