Iris by the googoo dolls I think. Lovely song.

It was jason and kristina and other poster was right-it was Iris by the googgoo dolls-made famous in the film city of angels starring meg ryan and nic cage-one of my fave songs ever!

Ooo how weird, I googled City of Angels earlier today for something and was nearly crying just reading the plot synopsis, and now it turns out that lovely song is in it.
