ElderberrySyrup · 10/11/2011 21:22

Yes he does, but in a good way.

I think my dh has a bit of a crush on her brother Diccon Hmm

sillymillyb · 10/11/2011 21:27

I have a girl crush on sarah.... and her husband. Wonder if I could just go hang out with them?!

catwithflowers · 11/11/2011 08:04

This is my favourite show - I think the whole family are gorgeous and can't decide who I fancy more, Sarah or Graham Grin

Loved the bit last night where one of the kids took a nut from the taps. Its all just so .............. refreshingly normal (and you would think it almost shouldn't be in that huge house, with tv 'slebs'). Also love the fact that they see Rise as something to be shared, not as something to be kept for themselves and their family. The bit with the 2 women who had been stationed there in WW2 was very touching.

There is something very sexy about practical people Blush

ElderberrySyrup · 11/11/2011 08:56

I liked the bit when they were pissing themselves laughing in the taxi on the way home from the superyacht at the thought of what their kids could have done to it.

I like the fact that they seem to have a good relationship. You don't see many of those on telly.

Raahh · 11/11/2011 09:07

They are great together- even when they are bickering, which they do quite oftenGrin.

And Diccon is lovely tooBlush- I think Diccon is married to Graham's sister (might have that wrong). It really is the sort of set up that you should hate her for- perfect husband, gorgeous kids, big house, great career- but you can't hate her because she really doesn't seen affected by it al (though she is vair posh).

I remember listening to her on the radio once- she is very passionate about sheds. She is quite bonkers, really.

(Hope no-one comes to thread to shatter my Beeny-bubble, and tell me she is a cow behind the scenesGrin).

Yes, I agree I said as much to DH last night, also a bit like Robert Peston.

totally agree, we should hate her Grin but they come across as such a lovely family who are actually quite ordinary, attempting to do an extraordinary thing with rise hall, and who also suffer from a huge amount of sods law (the storm/car rally). there are very few people who would take on rise hall, it's sickening the council are being such gits.

marge2 · 11/11/2011 11:45

I love them to bits. I think they are a fab family. I am most jeallous however that their brother and sister are married to each other. It would be So great to be able to avoid all that Christmas grief about who is going to which set of inlaws, and for BOTH sides to be happy whenever the in laws come round.

notcitrus · 11/11/2011 13:23

It's great - if MrNC and I had loads more money and more kids we'd be like that!
Well our relationship is a bit similar, we're doing up a large semi-derelict house while living in it (a semi in London, though... our 'grounds' are about 20 feet square!), and have had similar dealings with the council and workmen. [grr]

And have 3yos now getting involved and wanting to play with all the tools and run off with nuts.

Would love to hang out with them and hear the stories not suitable for telly!

ElderberrySyrup · 11/11/2011 14:33

It's the fact that she's self-made as well. DH asked me this morning if I envied her for having a massive pile to do up and my reaction was, well I don't have the right to be jealous, just admiring, given that she did it all herself, no-one handed it to her on a plate.
Plus from what she's said in interviews it sounds like the reason she is so driven is because of losing her mum at the age of 10. Sad It's great that she's been able to create such an amazing family of her own.

Unless old Krustie Allsorts who was born with a silver spoon in her plummy gob Grin
