...they were rubbish, weren't they?

Dh is watching a programme on BBC2 about them now - I never liked them as a child and I am congratulating myself on my perspicacity (blimey, that's a good word after 3 glasses of wine). They are completely unfunny. Dh liked them of course. Men.

my big sister loved the goodies so much she wrote to the bbc for a signed photo of them! bet she'd deny it now!

(dh says that isn't decorative or attractive but he is pro-Goodies and therefore obviously has no artistic or aesthetic credentials)

Oh I can't. I have to go to the butchers and to the greengrocery especially for tomorrows New Year Day meal. They do some really nice festive food so I must get going before its all sold out!

I love/loved the Goodies too. Am hoping the BBC will now repeat the entire series.

I thought they were great as well! Sorry I don't usualy disagree with you MM , but I'm with Tamum. A comedy the family can watch together.....not many of those around.

They were great! Don't remember much except that I loved them, and of course... eckythump.

Saw that programme last night, ds1 watched it as couldn't sleep and loved it too.

I remember watching them in my nylon nightie and dressing gown, in front of the 3 bar, trying to work out what was so funny. Surreal is more the word that comes to mind (although I didn't know that word existed when I was 7)

I think we have to remember that this was the seventies, when we also liked macrame and hessian wallpaper. They were strange times.....

This is all looking more encouraging I must say! If anyone would care to see one of ds's lego versions of the Goodies it is available here , though I would recommend just watching the opening credits unless you have a very low boredom threshold. Feel free to rate it highly though

Soupy, I am so impressed. I had to buy the Goodies annuals from eBay for ds as my parents had unaccountably lost mine.

I just think all the telly over the holidat has been Cr*# 'The Goodies" was however a definite low point!
