Did anyone watch James Corden last night?

I thought it was quite insightful, I really like James, think he's hilarious even though he can be quite arrogant at times.

Found myself feeling quite emotional in the final part, where he was describing his love for his fiancee and his baby, how she was there at the right time. I'm such a sucker for a crying bloke Grin Blush

I must admit to welling up at the end too! I am a sucker for a happy ending.
I enjoyed watching it too. Not such a fan of Piers but like James. I really felt for him when he found out Matthew Horne had declined to be on the show. He looked quite shocked, bless him.
I hadn't realised he went off the rails for a bit, and yes, he can be arrogant...but very funny!

twinklytroll · 30/10/2011 14:31

I cried as well at the end.

ALovelyBunchOfCoconuts · 30/10/2011 15:23

Glad it wasn't just me who had some dust in my eye!

Yes, the shock in his face re the Matt horne info was very genuine and I did feel for him.

I don't like Piers Morgan either but will definitely be watching next week for Rolf Harris.

I really enjoyed it and hadn't realised that he had gone off the rails. I was surprised to see the BAFTA clip about only winning 2 awards - he must have felt humilated seeing that again with Rob Brydon squirming on his behalf. I too had dust in my eyes at the end and ended up thinking he's a top bloke!

chipstick10 · 30/10/2011 17:00

We didnt get to the bottom of the Matt Horne thing did we!!!!!!

ALovelyBunchOfCoconuts · 30/10/2011 17:49

It is such a shame their efforts after Gav&Stace failed so miserably, after writing such a masterpiece of British comedy.

he must have been so ashamed of his antics after all that, but at least he can admit he was a prize twat! He has redeemed himself for me on League of their own and apparently was good in Dr Who, but I don't watch that.

I hadn't realised he'd done all the plays that he had done. I thought it was just Fat Friends and G&S. I remember Fat friends from my school days and it took me ages to catch on when watching G&S that that was who he was Blush

I thought he came across very well - thoughtful and honest about himself. I also liked the fact that he cares so little for being 'cool' - the Take That obsession, the Sally Army connections - and the obvious closeness of his family.

WanderingSheep · 30/10/2011 20:25

I thought that he came across very well too but I've seen him on Jonathan Ross before and liked him on that too.

I did feel sorry for him when Piers said that Matthew Horne had chosen not to take part in the show.

eatyourveg · 30/10/2011 20:41

I thought he was close to tears a lot of the time. Is it me or does no-one else pick up a vibe from Ruth Jones when she talks about him or when they are seen together out of character. I'm convinced she is madly in love with him but too decent to ever admit it. Were they ever an item?

girliefriend · 30/10/2011 20:47

funny you say that eatyourveg as I thought exactly the same thing, I really felt for her actually!

Think 'Gavin' was a bit .......... mean not to appear on the show at all, am sure we don't know the full story but they were obviously great mates at one point.

TimeForCake · 30/10/2011 20:53

I know what you mean about Ruth. But, she did seem very genuine when she talked at the end about the Corden family and how gorgeous she thinks they are. Maybe she's just really fond of him as a special mate. I like her too I must say.

chipstick10 · 30/10/2011 21:32

Just by her face ruth jones looks like she has lost aload of weight.

ALovelyBunchOfCoconuts · 30/10/2011 21:41

chipstick - I thought that too.

Matthew Horne has said he couldn't do it when he was asked to as he was filming otherwise he would have done it in a heartbeat. It feels like he was stitched up - dont forget Piers Morgan is a tabloid journalist.

eatyourveg · 31/10/2011 11:56

But he could have recorded something from his set to be played back during the interview. Yes Ruth Jones did look as if she had lost loads of weight. She looked really pretty. I'd die for those cheek bones

ALovelyBunchOfCoconuts · 06/11/2011 12:09

Really loved Rolf Harris last night. Once again I was in tears mid-way through. Next week I will be armed with a box of tissues just in case!

He truly is a legend and never would I have guessed he is almost 81. Fantastic man.

I've never watched this before, as I have no time for tabloid journalists, celebrities, or life stories. However, I saw a bit of the Rolf Harris one and was really impressed. Maybe I should watch some more.
