Ii get the feeling that for some reason programme makers think viewers will get bored if they bother to explain what's been going on. If I've spent four hours on something I really would like to know what's been happening.

Specifically: how were Mark and the other guys' deaths faked; what was the agenda of the industrialist/ journalist? Why was the uncle murdered at the house where the nephew was disabled?

Yes agree with you (is there no other thread??) it all seemed slightly disappointing. I watched with DH and we/he concluded that it was something to do with them going underground to be part of this organisation (the help desk) and people where killed (i.e. Gina's parents) if they refused to get involved when asked - which is I presume the same reason the uncle was murdered. Not sure how the deaths faked. Still also not sure about the whole assasination attempt thing - something to do with if Wentworth was killed there would be some kind of military coup or something but when the other guy was killed (billionaire) somehow the current PM got to stay PM. Also don't you want to know what the amazing revelations were going to be?? I'm sure if you google it will find an explanation somewhere....

HTH! (second one is better at explaining what happened - possibly!)

Thank you that helps a lot. Yes, I was desperate to know what the revelations would be but also guess they were made up any old thing just to get Wentworth to go to the high profile press conference and be able to pass it all off as the PM being corrupt.

I was annoyed with it too - it's nice not to be spoonfed for a change, but there's also the problem with having invested in something for 4 hours and being thoroughly annoyed at the end because it's just TOO obfuscatory.

I enjoyed it because I LOVE PG but it was convoluted drivel really. I thought when they said "coup" they just meant that their boy would take over from the PM and they would have the type of Government they wanted. I thought "coup" was a silly word to use but maybe I misunderstood and they meant the word in the true(usual) sense???
