DS was allowed to stay up and watch it with me and we were just agog throughout
. Breathtaking, heartbreaking, involving. Our favourite bit was when the penguin on the ice floe does a double take as the killer whale rears up. His backwards stagger and flap of wings convey that 'JESUS!' moment better than any actor ever could.
The snowflake stuff was stunning. Even though it's something I've always been told, to see the snowflakes develop so differently was amazing.
I wish I was more articulate! It's impossible to convey the awe one feels when watching a programme such as this, and I'm so pleased that Sir David Attenborough has thrown caution to the wind and decided to bollock us.
Oh yes and... how the fuck does Richard Attenborough (sweetie, luvvie, darling) become a lord for acting a bit, and David Attenborough (controller of BBC2, commissoned Monty Python, is the most amazing anthropologist, has created so many natural history series that have changed the world, is wise, witty, kind, is seen worldwide as someone to be respected, heard, heeded) still remain a Sir. In my Fantasy House of Lords, I know whom I'd promote.
