Girl in it, was like a Victorian ghost communicating with "modern kids" had doll. Twist in the end, doll had jewels/treasure in it's (china) head? Terrifying but v good?

Oh bloody hell 2kilo. That is ringing the vaguest of tiny distant bells, damn you!!!

C'mon, you must remember more than that? Please?

Shakey1500 · 22/10/2011 23:12

Was it a series or a film/one off?

Debs75 · 22/10/2011 23:15

I am kinda thinking of some huge house and the kids having white china type masks. There is a slide in the garden going underground and if I remember it terrified me as well

Shakey1500 · 22/10/2011 23:17

It wasn't a one off Armchair Thriller or Tales of the Unexpected was it? Definitely a kids programme?

25kilopumpkin · 22/10/2011 23:19

Sorry, might have been a key in it's head? Think it was a series? Poss nr Xmas? Filmed rather than other not filmed? Er, similar in vibe to the box of delights but not? Apologies, bugging me now. Terrifying

25kilopumpkin · 23/10/2011 04:39

there was a ghost show in the 1970's called 'come back Lucy' where the victorian girl communicated with the modern girl through the mirrors in the house.

freaked me out totally!!!!

MigratingCoconuts · 23/10/2011 14:53

come back lucy

the modern girl is holding a doll in one of the last photos here. Is it this one??

This programme stayed with me for years! I might have to buy the book now!!

PinterestQueen · 23/10/2011 16:09

Oooh I loved that book when I was younger, I thought it was so scary! I don't think that involves jewels being in the dolls head though?

As far as I can remember the Victorian girl tries to kill Lucy on a frozen lake...

MigratingCoconuts · 23/10/2011 16:35

yes...she does!

but you are right...and I don't think it has masks in it either.

what about 'The Tomorrow People'? that was always a bit wierd!!!

I was traumatised for years by Timeslip - where the "youngish" woman reverted to her real age of about 1000 years

Sandalwood · 23/10/2011 16:41

Oh I remember the frozen lake bit in 'Come Back Lucy' - it stuck with me for years.
'Phoenix and the Carpet' is another one that lingered in my mind.

MigratingCoconuts · 23/10/2011 18:19

I found looking into any reflective surface really difficult for quite a while afterwards in case some loon of a victorian girl-ghost tried to kill me [hgrin]

25kilopumpkin · 23/10/2011 19:39

OMG now I am starting to seriously worry about the people who made these programmes. Thank you for the link to "Come Back Lucy" excuse my farking French but that is farking spooky... and no its not the sodding thing I am thinking of although its the nearest thing to it so far....my god, i worry about DC watching the "deathscene" in the bleddy LionKing, I cant believe we were all allowed to watch stuff like this all the time, no wonder I had nightmares until I hired a very expensive lifecoach at the age of 30. Shock

southeastastra · 26/10/2011 09:59

ooh that link is great coconuts!

MigratingCoconuts · 26/10/2011 11:03

yes!...the home page links to all sorts of other gems such as 'the singing ringing tree', 'flashing blade', champion the wonder horse' and 'the white horses'

Its enough to make me quite giddy!! [hgrin]

vogonmothership · 27/10/2011 20:03

Not 'Echoes of Louisa' ? That was scary but all I can remember is some kind of Victorian/modern time flip and it was set in Rutland

LadyClariceCannockMonty · 28/10/2011 11:46

I've no idea what this show was but I want to see it! I loved Box of Delights. Also The Wolves of Willoughby Chase.
