Been watching old episodes of this on you tube. So funny. I laughed so hard at Henry Davenport i pulled some scar tissue from an old operation.
Then i found some information on the net that said Guy Jenkin (one of DTDDs original writers) is writing a new satirical comedy that has the working title of Hacks. Its set in a newspaper office and is inspired by the phone hacking scandal. They are saying it should be ready for broadcast sometime this winter.

Sounds great!

missmogwi · 08/10/2011 22:11

Brilliant.

I loved Joy, she was so fabulously evil!

carernotasaint · 08/10/2011 22:21

I had a massive crush on Neil Pearson when i was 17/18. But my fave character was Henry. When there are documentaries about comedies on TV DTDD either gets seriously underated or left out altogether.

Ooooh I hope this is true. I loved DTDD. Joy Merryweather remains one of my favourite characters ever.

I loved DTDD. Used to watch it in my bedroom and parents used to hear me guffawing from downstairs. Really missed it when it finished.

Yay :)

We used to go and see it being filmed, was even funnier live with Andy Hamilton doing the warm up.

Great. My husband is a freelance sports journo but when he used to work for a paper he said that his real life bosses were just like Gus and George. He always wanted to be Damien but his co-workers used to think he was more like Joy!!
