I've often wondered but never thought to ask, why is Izzy in a wheelchair. Has it ever been explained?

She's got a hereditary syndrome, can't remember what it is called. When the sister was having her pregnancy scan Owen told the person doing the scan about it in case it might affect the baby.

I think it's a form of Ehlers Danlos - it was mentioned in the episode when Katy had her scan as Owen was worried about its heritability.
