Grand Designs returns tonight Grin, although looks like the first one is a bit of a "revisited".

Yay! I'll be watching.

megcleary · 14/09/2011 20:53

Wine in hand, loving Kevin.

orienteerer · 14/09/2011 21:02

That intro music makes me go all shivery!

OP posts:
SamsGoldilocks · 14/09/2011 21:03

last week they did a really old one which was of my friend's dad's house
i couldn't watch it as my tv doesn't 'do' more 4

CroissantNeuf · 14/09/2011 21:08

hahaha....a year and a half!

I think it might take a bit longer than that.

ColdSancerre · 14/09/2011 21:10

Going back to 2006, I think this will be a two baby Grand Designs.

CroissantNeuf · 14/09/2011 21:18

It could be the first 'grandchild' Grand Designs if he insists on doing all this himself in his spare time

ColdSancerre · 14/09/2011 21:45

So, baby 1 arrived quite rapidly after wedding. One more or 2.

I do like this design so far. Nice couple.

LynetteScavo · 14/09/2011 21:47

DH has just said " oh FFS" on hearing they are having another baby.

This is the man who is the father of 3 DC. Hmm

YesYes · 14/09/2011 21:48

pmsl ls

peggotty · 14/09/2011 21:50

The husband didn't exactly sound thrilled at the prospect of another baby there!! 'another one and all the extra clobber' Shock

YesYes · 14/09/2011 21:50

i certainly feel a bit better about my - up to now - four years of building extension

actually may delete this grand designs from the planner so that DP doesn't forever refer to it

'well I didn't take six years like that guy on grand designs did'

CroissantNeuf · 14/09/2011 21:52

Blimey -Kevin was walking like a Thuderbird puppet down that path Confused

sailorsgal · 14/09/2011 21:53

Its in a beautiful setting, but OMG 5 years!

YesYes · 14/09/2011 21:53

it is a very odd looking building though isn't
surely the original building was big enough??? well i guess clearly not

sailorsgal · 14/09/2011 21:58

Can you imagine all the sticky hand marks on all that glass.

ColdSancerre · 14/09/2011 22:01

I love the mill building, especially the side going over the mill pond. The middle bit makes the cottage look tiny.

ColdSancerre · 14/09/2011 22:03

Oh and I did think they paid a very high price for a virtually derelict cottage in the first place.

YesYes · 14/09/2011 22:13

How much did they pay? Missed that

YesYes · 14/09/2011 22:15

No I bet they're the type of feckers that NEVER have fingerprint marks on the glass

LynetteScavo · 14/09/2011 22:16

I think they paid over £400K for the cottage/land.

Ariesgirl · 14/09/2011 22:19

I pointed this out to the BESH coven not long ago. Why are we moaning about not being able to conceive? All we need to do is go on Grand Designs.

ColdSancerre · 14/09/2011 22:20

I think it was £430k

ColdSancerre · 14/09/2011 22:23

Agree Ariesgirl, we've been trying (really quite hard) for 4 years for our first, if only we had Kevin come to look at our house every few months we'd be parents by now. But as we've only got a bog standard semi it seems that Kevin visits are unlikely to be our answer.

Ariesgirl · 14/09/2011 22:30

Sell it ColdSancerre. Sell your semi, get a STUPENDOUSLY stupid mortgage (and some additional loans too of course, plus some hardcore credit card debt), plan a ridiculous grand design, go over the build time by 18 months and have several catastrophic things happen such as the field you are building it on needing shoring up, and I bet you'll be pregnant half way through filming. Worth a try eh?

I do like Grand Designs normally I hasten to add.
