The US one? Me too!

Fatshionista · 15/08/2011 16:47

The end of the series is a bit crap but I admit I enjoyed it too. I heard Fincher is directing Season 2? If so, it should be excellent.

LadyClariceCannockMonty · 15/08/2011 17:06

Ooh, really? Interesting. I haven't seen the Danish one yet but will be catching up with it when it's repeated, and suspect that that's the right way round to watch them; a lot of people say the original is better. Have either of you seen it and if so do you agree?

Fatshionista · 15/08/2011 20:05

I have seen the Danish version and I loved it. I like the US version for what it is but I have the Danish characters in my head and have to block that out to take the US one on its own merit.

anonacfr · 15/08/2011 20:11

At last some other people who liked it! I love Holder- he's really growing on me.

Fatshionista · 15/08/2011 20:20

DH got bored of it about halfway through because he doesn't like things that aren't fast paced but I thought it was very well done, especially as a remake.

wahwahwah · 19/08/2011 09:08

It is one of the few series that I have gone 'nooooooooo' when the credits come up at the end. I love a good cliffhanger! I saw the Danish box set in the dvd shop yesterday and was very tempted to get it and lock myself in for the weekend!

wahwah save your ££ - the Danish series 1 is being re-shown on a nightly basis - from this Sunday - on the Beeb!

thestringcheeseincident · 19/08/2011 13:20

I've watched the US one, would I still enjoy the Danish one?
Cliffhanger KILLED me.

teejwood · 19/08/2011 13:24

string i didn't watch the US one as I had enjoyed the Danish one so much but maybe fatshion could advise you? I understand the endings were different in the two versions...

thestringcheeseincident · 19/08/2011 13:56

Thanks teej

wahwahwah · 26/08/2011 11:16

I think this is the best thing that has been on television in years. I'm so glad BBC are repeating it. I tried watching the American version but just can't seem to get into it. Roll on series two.

whoneedssleepanyway · 05/09/2011 10:52

I am halfway through the re-run of the the Danish version on BBC4 and it is absolutely the best thing I have seen on TV in a long time, I am totally gripped and still no idea how this is going to end. Haven't watched the US one and am glad I have seen the Danish one first.

picnicbasketcase · 05/09/2011 10:56

I'm also recording/watching the Danish version on BBC4, I'm a few episodes behind but intend to watch some more tonight. I'm really enjoying it. Plus the jumpers are just splendid.

whoneedssleepanyway · 05/09/2011 10:59

I am also really enjoying hearing them speak Danish, it is not a language I am at all familiar with but is nice to listen too!

higgle · 06/09/2011 11:31

another one totally hooked. Every character has a dark side! Even super brainy DS1 who always knows whodunnit in the first episode of most things sits there enthralled.
