I have set a reminder Smile now I just have to make sure the dc are in bed.

smartyparts · 12/07/2011 19:06

Thanks for reminding me too! I'll be watching

TheMoistWorldOfSeptimusQuench · 12/07/2011 22:46

That was beautiful, heart rending, and the characters spot on. Duncan and Helen, especially, were precisely how I'd imagined them. And Anna Maxwell Martin is amazing.

But a bit quick! The book is so rich and full of nuance - would have been served better by a two or three parter I think.

omnishambles · 12/07/2011 22:46

Yes agreed - I want more. What has Claire Foy been in before?

Teachermumof3 · 12/07/2011 22:55

Wasn't she in Upstairs Downstairs?

jenniec79 · 12/07/2011 22:57

I'm recording it to watch tomorrow - part was filmed outside my flat!

TheMoistWorldOfSeptimusQuench · 12/07/2011 22:58

Being Human, Little Dorrit, and Upstairs Downstairs, according to her interview in yesterdays Observer.

SugarSkyHigh · 12/07/2011 22:59

Claire Foy was also in The Promise - she was brilliant in it

katkitya · 13/07/2011 10:03

Loved the book. Can't wait to watch it!!

sparkle1977 · 13/07/2011 13:16

Watched most of it last night with a bit left for tonight, loved it.

paulapantsdown · 13/07/2011 21:09

I really loved it, its one of my favorite books that I have re-read about 4 times. I too felt it was a bit rushed and should have been a one hour for each period I think. The characters/actors were soooo well cast - just as I had imagined each one.

I love the BBC!

katkitya · 21/07/2011 07:45

I watched it yesterday and I was almost crying by the end of it!! The casting was perfect. Why didn't they do it as a three parter though? Some series they drag on but this one wouldve worked out beautifully. What Sarah Waters books haven't been dramatised now? I'm trying to think.

ensure · 21/07/2011 07:58

Oh I recorded it and just watched it too. Very good I thought.

Bloodybridget · 21/07/2011 13:01

There's meant to be a film being made of The Little Stranger tho' I don't know when. The rest have all been on television now.

I thought it was very rushed. I agree, a two-parter or even three hour/50-minute episodes would have been better. It was quite good but not overwhelmingly so. I liked JJ Feild particularly, and I thought the period clothes and make-up were excellent.
