Been watching it on Sky Atlantic and love love love it!
The characters (big phwoar for Nate!!), the script everything is very very excellent.
Think its onto series 2 at the mo.
Used to watch it when it was first on Channel 4 and have a vague recollection of an old girlfriend of Nate's turning up with his baby daughter.
Did this really happen? Which series?

Me me me, but please no spoilers!
I didnt watch it when it first came out. I love it though, its one of the best series ive ever watched, clever, funny and brilliantly acted

didldidi · 15/05/2011 21:40

Yes it really happens - it's Lisa a fuck buddy but can't remember the series. Bloody excellent programme!

CDMforever · 15/05/2011 21:47

So sorry mosschops re spoiler, got a bit carried away!
It is bloody excellent isn't it didl ( yes it WAS Lisa!), tho because of colourful language have to be careful when I watch it!!
Really enjoying storyline with Clare and Gabe, tho think it will end in tears.
Will David get back together with Keith?
How old is Ruth - one of these people who is very difficult to age
And, most importantly, when will Nate realise that Brenda is a mentalist and go out with me????????

SFU is my favourite TV show of all time...it is extraordindary television.

Ruth is supposed to be 19 years older than Nate, who is 36, but Frances Conway is actually only 12 years older than Peter Krause! I always thought she looked too young to be his mum!

THe soundtrack CDs are amazing too, btw, I have them both in my car and never tire of listening to them Smile

CatPower · 16/05/2011 16:51

SFU is my favourite ever show - just listening to the song featured in the final scene of the final episode has me in bits, don't get me started on what I'm like when I watch the episode itself.

SFU is so good I almost wish I could forget it all and start from scratch again if that makes sense (Mad Men is another one like that). Fantastic show.

mosschops30 · 16/05/2011 19:05

Can anyone tell me what was the end of last weeks about? Did nate tell david about the avm? Was i supposed to not be able to hear it?

TanteRose · 18/05/2011 02:46

was that the one where they are sitting in the coffin display room, near the window and Nate starts half-crying Sad Yes he tells David...no, you weren't supposed to hear the whole conversation...it was PRIVATE, fgs...Grin

OMG, Catpower the finale. Probably the most amazing piece of television in the history of television. Gives me goosebumps just thinking about it...

mosschops30 · 18/05/2011 09:42

Yes thats the one, thanks.
I really want to google the finale, but im gonna be good and watch all of it. Everyone who has ever watched this series says 'omg the ending' so im desparate to know.
It is one of the best series i have ever seen

pinkytheshrinky · 18/05/2011 09:46

Agreed the last episode is one of the best pieces of drama i have ever seen. Watched the whole thin on dvd season by season and it is amazing.

Snooch · 18/05/2011 09:47

Oh man, this is just the best television show ever. Bought the entire DVD set off of Amazon and am on the last series, which I've never seen. Am amping myself up for the finale, after which I don't know what I'm going to do with myself. Might just start watching from the beginning again...

TanteRose · 18/05/2011 09:52

I have the box set, and I truly never tire of watching it (I don't watch it ALL the time, you understand...I do watch other lesser shows now...Grin)

You can watch it loads of times and still find something new in there. Sigh. Wish it had never ended...

Blondeshavemorefun · 18/05/2011 17:27

me

started watching it for first time when started on atlantic a while back

CatPower · 18/05/2011 17:32

To be honest, the final scene of the final episode doesn't really spoil anything in terms of the other series... ack it's so hard to explain without "spoiling" it, but it's really almost like a separate thing, and yet a veryveryvery good ending to a perfect show.

So.

Blondeshavemorefun · 18/05/2011 17:34

'dithers whether to click link'

but dont want to spoil it

prob wont click ......

TanteRose · 19/05/2011 02:02

Cat is right, in that it won't actually spoil it...but I wouldn't click, because you have to have had the build up to it...

two of my favourite characters are Bettina (Kathy Bates) and Sarah (Patricia Clarkson) - I just love those two actors...

CDMforever · 19/05/2011 19:56

Kathy Bates was in an early episode Series 2 I think playing an agent of a young actress who od's then I noticed shes billed as a director??
Blimey, she's almost as obsessed as I am!!
So who is Bettina???
