Who do we think will win?
Who do we want to win?

Is Graham as good as Tezza?

Of course I'm supporting Blue and the UK check out my profile

And most importantly, what are we eating whilst watching?

I'm in.
(am also on original eurovision geek thread but I can't find it)

Italy taking part for first time in 13 yrs so for first time in all that time I get to see it live.

Am vvvvvv excited. da da da da daaaaa dadada

Graham good, but Terry was God.

MarioandLuigi · 14/05/2011 17:58

Me - I will be here, cant wait actually :)

Bucharest · 14/05/2011 18:00

I expect I shall want some lovely young man standing with his legs apart bellowing a ballad to win. (think Norway last year) That's my kind of song.

NettoSuperstar · 14/05/2011 18:03

Nooooo, Jedward Blue should win.
I'm not keen on ballads being bellowed straight ahead. If I wanted that, I'd watch Les Misrables.

I want bad singing, silly outfits and amusing dance routines.

I think Scott Mills did really well on the semi-finals. He came out with some Terry-esque comments.

I am looking forward to it.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 14/05/2011 18:21

I guess, though I've not actually seen/heard any of it. They've cancelled casualty :(

AprilRose · 14/05/2011 18:30

I'm signing up.

Haven't seen the semis, so have no idea who's likely to win. Obv want Blue to win, but am expecting them to come second or third... from last... We're not loved by the Europeans...

Graham's alright, but he's not yet (and may never be) the legend that Terry was... I imagine folkd not indoctrinated with Tezza, Graham's probably well liked.

Eating... Well as I've just finished my dinner and have no treaty goodies in the house, shall not be eating anything nice for the duration... Might allow a bowl of cereal if I really get the munchies.

NettoSuperstar · 14/05/2011 18:33

Bowl of cereal?

Oh no no no.

I'm making cupcakes as we speak, and have cheese in the fridge and a big bag of korean rice crackers.

We're having home made pizza for tea, made and just ready to shove in oven, and some chips and dips.

OP posts:
AprilRose · 14/05/2011 18:57

I suppose there's time between Dr Who and actual kick off to zoom to Sainsburys and back.

Besides, I really ought to save the cereal for breakfast, therefore it's kind of necessary to source alternative accompaniments for European singing competitions...

mumatron · 14/05/2011 19:03

i'm thinking Sweden will win, jedward 2nd and blue 3rd.

chinese ordered and a lovely chocolate cake just out of the oven.

just watching end of Dr Who.

NettoSuperstar · 14/05/2011 19:06

I'm going to tune in this year, I quite want Jedward to do well!

AprilRose · 14/05/2011 19:20

Am convinced... Popping out to the shop (to buy dog food, or at least that will be my justification, any treat-type foodstuffs will just be innocent additional purchases in a perfectly necessary shopping trip!)

Anyone want anything?

LawrieMarlow · 14/05/2011 19:20

When does it start?

Katiekitty · 14/05/2011 19:23

I'm in

Till the bitter end!

standing by...

Katiekitty · 14/05/2011 19:24

Lowrie - 8pm bbc 1

don't miss a minute

Raahh · 14/05/2011 19:39

v excited- Cava on ice (couldnt drink last year as pg), indian takeaway ordered. Dc's nearly in bed.

I love Graham Norton's commentary- he's not Tel, but still funny.

Bucharest · 14/05/2011 19:41

Dd not well, so allowed on sofa but must be quiet and not too poorly, dp about to be kicked out of house and sent to watch some football yawn with his macho mates.

NorfolkNChance · 14/05/2011 19:42

Marking my place, wine is in and I have my Radio Times bingo card at the ready!

Jedward have clearly been entered because Ireland cannot afford to host! What's betting Greece's entry is also shite?

AprilRose · 14/05/2011 19:49

and back, with kettle chips and some naughty cadburys goodies... Plus some fresh fruit juice, in pretence at healthiness.

Talking of Ireland and Greece, would we actually be able to afford to host it next year, what with those pesky Olympics happening? How much tourism type money does Eurovision actually bring in?

As an aside - is anyone else not-so-secretly hoping Jedward come on stage and sing My Lovely Horse?

NorfolkNChance · 14/05/2011 19:51

AprilRose DH and I discussed this earlier, I was doubtful bt he reckons it would be at the O2 and all the hotels, transport everything will be tip top because of the 'Lympics so it would be logisitcally easy but costly because it is Jubilee year also.

NorfolkNChance · 14/05/2011 19:52

Oh I am so hoping for My Lovely Horse but only if the lovely Neil Hannon joins them

glitterkitty · 14/05/2011 19:54

Am in! We have bockwurst (trad food of hosting country) and salad and YES a black forest gateau Grin also nice gerwurtztramnier to accompany.

I'm only watching for the outfits and the dances. the ones i like never win...

NettoSuperstar · 14/05/2011 19:56

Kettle chips, good choice.
The local shop were selling them for 10p a pack the other week, so I bought 3 packs.
I bought 10 crunchies the other day too, they were 5p each.
