Anyone remember this?

i've been driving myself crazey all day trying to remember the name of a programme from the 80s i think,is didn't last long and as far as i can remember it was a bit like Darling buds of may. There were alot of children and i think the oldest sister was in love with some one who may have been foreign.
They lived in the country and didn't have alot of money.
I know its not alot to go on,but its driving me crazy. I think it had a number in the title,maybe 7
Can anyone else remember it i have tried googling every thing i can think of and no luck.
Any ideas.

Doesn't ring any bells but I have some questions:

was it on on weekdays or weekends?

can you remember any of the storylines?

was it more comedy or serious?

I hope someone can help because this is going to bug me now as well.

Was it a sort of sunday afternoon drama, New Zealand or somewhere and did one of them end up in hiding (in a shed or something) and the mum found her?

Seven little australians? Don't think there was a love interest though - it was set in the 19th century? The eldest one survived consumption then got squashed by a tree (cheerful!)

Yes - ancient though, [codger emoticon] from about the mid-seventies I guess.

Thats the problem i remember very little, but i think it was on on the weekend and i don't think they were australian.
It was a big family that i think were kind of looked at as being a subject of gossip,by some of the village,i think it was in the country as i remember a countryside look and a big gate like to a field.
Like i said not alot to go on,its just driving me crazy.
Oh well, i just remember bits of things,did that once with a song by Dr Hook, took me about 10 years to track it down
