How young is too young.....

to watch Doctor Who?

DS is only 22 months, and although it's one of my favourite programs (and obviously family viewing) I was worried that Saturday's episode was too scary for him.

What do you think?

Am I being a bit pfb or do you agree that he is too young to watch it?

I think it might be a bit too young tbh..

My 7 year old loves Dr Who but still gets scared at certain bits.. DH even says it's creepy sometimes.

Mind you, that is part of the appeal of watching!

Exactly! The whole hiding-behind-the-sofa thing was definitely part of my childhood, and I think if he was either younger (and not aware of it) or a few years older it would be ok to have it on.

But I'm worried that he's now aware of what is on the telly, and even though he doesn't seem bothered by it, he might take it in. And it WAS pretty scary on Saturday!

Damn the BBC schedulers!! An hour later and it wouldn't be an issue!! Grin

ds 3 saw the advert last week (puppets/dolls coming to life or something like that??) by accident and has been saying it scared him ever since. he had a few bad dreams about it too. and this is based on a 30 sec ad.

Did he actually watch it though or was it on & he was otherwise engaged. It was pretty unappealing for such a young child imoh...

It was on in the background while he had his supper/milk and he wasn't glued to it but did glance at it now and then.

He doesn't seem to have had any after affects but still feeling a bit [bad mother emoticon]. Think we will def have to avoid it next week and catch it on i player instead.

I saw the trailers and it scared me (46). Not keen on Dr Who and DD has never shown any interest. I am glad of that, she would make up a nightmare I think, she sleeps like a log but does use the oddest things to get out of going to bed.
