This was fun last week so looking forward to another episode tonight- 8pm, channel 4. Same producers as one born every minute. Last week involved a really sweet wedding proposal, made me smile.

I don't get this programme, watched it last week and watching again tonight. It can't be genuine fly-on-the-wall, can it? It's got to be a spoof.

Thingumy · 24/04/2011 22:14

I love it.

I can't believe people agree to cameras in their rooms....

I think the chef thinks he's Pierre white with his scarf Hmm

I would hate to get married there,it's truly shite.

Anyone recognise the owner? I swear I saw him on a 'secret millionaire' episode.

not secret millionaire but still channel 4.
interesting!

Just watching it now on 4OD. Am I right in thinking Susanna (the bride) is pregnant? There has been absolutely no mention of it whatsoever and she was holding a glass of wine in the bedroom, so I'm not sure. Confused

AmyStake · 27/04/2011 21:34

OK just seen her in her PJs, she is definitely pregnant! Grin

I loved the first episode of this! After seeing the hotel I thought they would just mock it but I thought it was rather sweet and poignant. Amos carrying the trays made me laugh.

leftblank · 28/04/2011 14:18

Did no one see the first episode BTW? The proposal and man who had cancer?

paisleyII · 28/04/2011 19:28

loved this prog, watched it with dd last night, gutted i missed the first one. i liked the managers dog trailing around behind him. it brought back memories of my 'bib day', i thought the bride was sweet, going off to bed smiling whilst carrying a 'wine bucket' to piss in as the loo wasn't working in the bridle sweet, she took it all in her stride :)

Fimbo · 28/04/2011 20:36

I saw the first one and couldn't make up my mind about the proposal tbh, the way he kept sloping off and then making her take her drink outside when it was freezing, although she did seem quite genuine when he asked her.

Fimbo · 28/04/2011 20:37

And I thought the manager was really horrible to the young foreign guy.

AnyoneForPimms · 01/05/2011 19:52

Can't wait for tonights x

fartingfran · 01/05/2011 20:20

I've watched the first two and loved them, hope this one's as good. There was a hilarious trailer last week where the guy was telling his toddling child he was very disappointed in him. Child of course was oblivious.

HerRoyalHighnessPrincessCervix · 01/05/2011 20:41

sweet jeesus i am so glad i wasn't trying to eat at the same time as them.

salsmum · 02/05/2011 10:41

I watched the most recent episode where the head chef was rolling a fag on the work surface and wiped his hands and sweaty brow on the tea towel that he then threw over his shoulder presumably to then use to get food out of the oven Shock not a good advert for the Hotel me thinks.

Fimbo · 02/05/2011 10:59

I know its heavily edited, but I really really wouldn't want to stay there. Why in this world would you take 7 kids to a hotel, it must have been a real squeeze. I thought George & Maisie's parents were really horrible to them.

letsgetloud · 02/05/2011 16:45

I love this programme. I am not too sure how factual it is as sometimes can't believe people would pay for a holiday that you were being filmed on.

Anyhow love the hotel manager. After being all nice and welcoming to families, once the shift was over, he was saying to the staff that other people's kids are so annoying. God even my own are so annoying.

I love him living in his own caravan right next to the pigs.

Bearcrumble · 03/05/2011 07:11

I couldn't believe that awful father keeping his toddler in the dining room from the beginning of service until everyone else had left. Poor thing must have been incredibly bored - then the dad shouted at him, tried to force wine on him (did you see that bit!?) and folded him into the highchair so his legs were over the tray. I was gobsmacked. Then the family with 7 girls you thought would be frazzled and unable to cope but were actually better parents than all the others (practice I suppose).

I love Wayne. I nearly cried when he told the story of his 15 year old self chasing the car with his baby in.

LIZS · 09/05/2011 16:51

Have only dipped in and out of this, so may well have missed something crucial, but could not believe the drunken row that couple had in last night's episode. When sober they then claimed to be so great for each other and got married , why ? Confused Did the participants get a free break for agreeing to be filmed, I wonder ?

Fimbo · 09/05/2011 17:08

Liz I agree. There is something fishy about the whole thing. Why would they film someone getting so drunk, almost like they were encouraging them to do so and knew what was likely to happen. If it is supposed to be fly on the wall, you don't know really what is coming. Everything just seemed so centered around the alcohol.

edwardsbella · 10/05/2011 12:05

me and dh cracked up at the pee on the seat convo ,we have this everyday and with 2 sons aswell - not a good toilet experience when you have to tell every geust that comes in our house to watch out for pee on the seat
