Anyone watching this? It's quite sweet in places. I feel for these girls. But the midwives are lovely.

I just watched it. Some of it made me cringe - like when the girl thought she was doing good for her baby by smoking! I also can't understand how that girl couldn't eat. I stuffed my face constantly when I was pg, and felt dizzy and sick if I didn't...

I know! But I think the attention the girls get from the midwife particularly the girl who was underweight with twins, was great. She was very chuffed to be praised by her. That's sad, shows what a baby she still is herself. The smoking is shocking especially from the POV of cost, apart from the health implications. A pack of fags is equal to a pack of Tesco nappies I think! But i must admit I've only caught the last 30 mins. Will watch next week.

I know these girls are young but their niavity was unreal. I was pregnant at 19 and immediately stopped smoking, drinking and watched everything i ate to ensure a healthy baby.

These girls really needed the extra support from the midwives as their own families either weren't or couldn't help them. Especially the mum of the smoker, to actively encourage your child to smoke is wrong but to do it when they are pregnant is unbelievable.

Thanks goodness for the support they got and the healthy babies that followed

Tegan- I was exactly the same as you, preg at 19 stopped smoking, didnt drink before much anyway and watched what I ate and took preg pills.

I find it unbelievable what goes through people's minds sometimes.
