Dd adores this programme. Me and dh too. She just thinks its really cool and very funny. She's 8. Anyone else think its a great way of making science interesting (better than Tomorrows World!)

Ds1 is 5 and thinks it's great. He loves anything to do with science. Somewhat predictably his favourite bits are the exploding microwaves and caravans.

singyswife · 03/11/2005 21:14

My kids love it too. As do their mum and dad. Good family viewing in our house along with the Simpsons. Is a really good programme for getting science to be fun.

roisin · 03/11/2005 21:27

Someone else mentioned this to me, and I'd forgotten about it.

When is it on? What channel?

gscrym · 03/11/2005 21:29

This is the reason why I wanted to do a science related job. Now that I do, I think science is bobbins. Love Brainiac though.

iota · 03/11/2005 21:30

ds1 is 6 and loves it

colditz · 03/11/2005 21:46

My son, 2.6, loves it, he just likes watching things go bang I think.

Posey · 04/11/2005 19:57

Roisin - it has just ended (last night was the best bits from the series) but my guess is they'll probably repeat it. Not sure what days it was on but usually around 8pm on Sky one and Sky Mix. Catch it if you can, its so funny,

Singyswife - we're big Simpsons fans too. Its great to find things we all love, not just have to put up with.

Oh, thanks Posey! Now I've remembered why we don't watch it - we don't have digital, or satellite, or any of these new-fangled things

Houshold of Luddites!

NomDePlume · 04/11/2005 20:06

DS1 (13) and DS2 (12) love it, makes good family viewing actually.

roisin · 04/11/2005 20:08

I've just ordered the DVD from Amazon for ds for Christmas.
Ta.

JanH · 04/11/2005 20:12

DS2 is 12 and he used to love it, but has recently discovered Top Gear (oooooh nooooo) and today they were shooting cars at a giant target with a caravan in the middle, and he liked that even more. I blame Richard Hammond, he obviously has a caravan destruction fetish.

sparklymieow · 04/11/2005 20:13

DS, 7, loves it and he also loves the 'discovery kids' channel on Sky. He sits watching the science and history programme.

Posey · 04/11/2005 20:21

JanH - Top Gear also makes it into our top 5 of family viewing faves

Roisin - there's a Brainiac dvd??!!!

recently watched Jemery Clarkson's prog " Inventions that changed the world " on discovery channel. Dont usually like the man but theese prog were very good. What job do you do gscrym?

overdraft · 04/11/2005 21:18

yep we all love it in our house

roisin · 04/11/2005 21:30

I have zero interest in cars at all. I don't have a licence, and the topic just bores me silly. But I love Top Gear - it's just great TV!

DS2 says Stig is Michael Schumacher - anybody know?

Superblastofflips · 04/11/2005 23:44

i watched that 2nite fot the first time and it was good

Lara2 · 05/11/2005 01:04

My boys never miss it!! They kept begging me all last Christmas to put the Christmas lights in the microwave!!!! And the number of grapes that have been incinerated in it .....

iota · 05/11/2005 08:35

the old Stig was a guy named Perry McCarthy, but the new Stig is a deep dark secret. Possible contender Johnny Herbert.

JanH · 05/11/2005 10:34

Aha - I've been snooping, iota, and Damien Hirst is another, and so is a German woman called Sabine who went round in a racetrack in a Transit van not a lot slower than Jezza in a racing car - I think what DS2 heard was some remark about a German so it could be her - there is possibly more than one Stig.

JanH · 05/11/2005 10:34

Damien Hirst???? Damien Hill of course, lol!

munz · 05/11/2005 10:42

no but my DH does - in fact he addmitted it would be his ideal job!
