They picked good actresses to do it.

headfairy · 18/04/2011 20:09

She's doing a great job of portraying the rage the character must be feeling.

I am really feeling for Jack at the moment - heartbreaking.
And I agree Jesse Wallace is doing a great job.

PictureThis · 18/04/2011 20:19

So is Samantha Womack.

jennieflower · 18/04/2011 20:22

I'm not sure which part of the storyline pisses me off the most, the baby swap or the weaning of someone elses baby at 3 and a half months, chuckle

headfairy · 18/04/2011 20:22

raahh, So do I. It must be devastating for him.

PictureThis... really good isn't she? No jury in the land would convict her of anything.

Oh yeah Jennieflower, that got me too.. mashed banana? At 3 months? Are you mad?

I think Alfie is smashing.

lol at the weaning the baby, specially as he's only just learned to roll over!

sharbie · 18/04/2011 20:23

i agree and i think jean is very good too

thebestisyettocome · 18/04/2011 20:24

Jessie Wallace is an incredible actress. I don't watch EE much but she always stands out when I do catch it.

Her portayal of Pat Phoenix recently was one of the best things I've ever seen on TV.

headfairy · 18/04/2011 20:28

OH gawd, I'm welling up now, bloody soaps!

DuelingFanjo · 18/04/2011 20:32

I've not watched EE since around the time Den died for the second time but I have watched the last two episodes and just cried! I think it's because I have an almost 4mth old myself. I hope they treat the other storyline sensitively and I hope Kat is able to find some sympathy and forgiveness towards the other mum.

ChickensHaveNoEyebrows · 18/04/2011 20:32

Would SS really let you just waltz off with the baby though? Especially dressed as a zebra?

stressheaderic · 18/04/2011 20:33

Did not agree with any aspect of this storyline and think the scriptwriters made a right hash of it, but some superb acting by Jesse Wallace and Shane Ritchie tonight.

Best eastenders episode i have ever seen. Was crying all the way thru. Poor jack x

maddy68 · 18/04/2011 20:39

FFS some babies are weaned early - mashed banana is not going to kill a 4 month old baby, both mine were weaned early and they are healthy teenagers now so they didnt curl up and die!

anyway back to the point! some superb acting all round - I am loving this story line

Raahh · 18/04/2011 20:43

Maddy68- I know that- but I knew as soon as i heard it that it would feature on an MN thread somewhereSmile

ChickensHaveNoEyebrows · 18/04/2011 20:44

I thought the baby was great. He/she was just smiling away as the actors sobbed. No empathy whatsoever Grin

Raahh · 18/04/2011 20:46

The baby was gorgeous.

And there is an AIBU thread debating the mashed banana[sigh].

MN- never predictable.Hmm

everthebeliver · 18/04/2011 20:47

I watched it tonight and felt for both Kat and Ronnie, both actresses played the parts to the extent that I cried real tears. I know the BBC were wrong in doing this storyline and many have been outraged but what a fantastic episode.

By the way I am not dismissing anyones heartbreak. I am just saying what a great episode of EE thats all :)

januaryjojo: what hospital was it? EE is filmed in our home town and could not recognise the hospital

childishiknow · 18/04/2011 20:51

OK, I know some babies are weaned early however I do think the BBC have gotten this wrong. People listen to soaps. Ronnie Mitchell weaned her baby off the tele at 4 months on banana and apple so it is ok for me to do it then?

They should have been responsible and stuck to current guidelines at 6 months.

That said, i thought tonight was very good.

ChickensHaveNoEyebrows · 18/04/2011 20:53

If people are really so easily influenced by EE, they shouldn't be allowed to own a television.
