lol , I missed the end but ds told me who did it. Why did the policeman get killed though ?

I watched the end on itv player but must have still missed a bit - was he the father or just got used to track her down ? Why did the first woman die , was it just a mistake with the rooms and intended for the ex-policeman?

I thought the policeman got killed to throw suspicion onto the revenge tragedy lecturer.

Policeman had an affair with the old couple's (killed in the fire) DD.

I think first woman was a mistake.

Other two (man buried in the woods and son of other woman candidate) were killed presumably also to throw suspicion her way, as in eliminating competition in the election.

Hard to concentrate on the plot when Hathaway's on the screen isn't it ?
