Those kids will implode one day.

kittya · 03/04/2011 22:01

You could tell Fred and Betty missed their daughter. It was very sad.

OMG Shock...they actually really really believe what they are saying...too bad they won the appeal in court...just speechless

LoveLeonardCohen · 03/04/2011 22:14

I thought Louis was very good

kittya · 03/04/2011 22:15

yes he was. I reckon that woman will lose quite alot more of her children in the next few years. What a carry on.

I have a little crush on Louis Blush

stealthcat · 03/04/2011 22:18

me too Blush

PoppetOne · 03/04/2011 22:34

I feel really sad that they can't simply embrace the differences in people and respect that people have different beliefs, and the majority of people have a decent level of moral values :(

MaryAnnSingleton · 03/04/2011 22:37

I love Louis- but tell me,why do they celebrate when someone dies of breast cancer ?

thenightsky · 03/04/2011 22:54

Mary... i think its when the person who dies is an American because America is gay approving, or something.

MaryAnnSingleton · 04/04/2011 07:29

they are incredibly warped people

anonacfr · 04/04/2011 08:11

I'm so annoyed I missed it. I thought it was the repeat of the old show.

cocolepew · 04/04/2011 13:07

They think everything is of Gods doing so celebrate everything, including cancer and death. Apparently those people deserve to die because GOd picked them (or some such nonsense).

notnowbernard · 04/04/2011 13:10

It's almost like they are psychotic... their ideas/beliefs etc are delusional in nature (i.e they are fixed, unshakeable, cannot be reasoned with)

Nobody will EVER make them change their opinion on it because to them, their way is the absolute truth

I'd laugh but that would be highly insensitive of me

notnowbernard · 04/04/2011 13:12

What I meant to add was that their beliefs are delusional IMO (as opposed to just strongly held beliefs) because what they spout is clearly fucking Not Right

kittya · 04/04/2011 13:39

I didnt get the impression the kids were mistreated physically, did you? Appart from the brainwashing!! but, even then they were free to leave. I was expecting that side of it to be more sinister, lots of beatings etc like some hardcore Christians with their children.

I actually dont think Social Workers would have any say in it at all. Dont forget some of them will be in on it anyway. Did you notice what high flying jobs they had?

was being a bit dim after the mothers day tipples and could'nt get why they thought god was so against smoking till it dawned what fags they meant.Horrible horrible family and why they have'nt been locked in a mental home is beyond me.

puffling · 04/04/2011 21:43

I was disappointed that Louis didn't really go for them. It all seemed a bit half hearted, like he'd been told to go back and follow up with the human angle. I'd have like something that put this group in the context of wider world issues. But then I suppose there'd have been no audience for it.There is so much that he could have focussed on but trying to get them to talk about emotions seemed a bit pointless to me when they quite clearly felt no conflict about losing their daughters etc.

oldraver · 04/04/2011 22:43

PufflingLast time didnt he expose Shirleys husband having a child 'out of wedlock' and them being seething he had bought it up ?

I'm really surprised they havn't had more of a backlash considering the boycotts of servicemens funerals

cowboylover · 05/04/2011 01:54

Its so shocking and if they really do go to the middle east and picket the jews as they said is the plan I really do think that they will be murdered.

I watched the 1st one again knowing they where revisiting ang we tried to guess which ones would have left and both suprised as thought it would be Jayel and Laurens statement that her dad love it for the power and control over his family it gave him was very true.

kittya · 05/04/2011 04:45

Jael was scary out of all the siblings.

OP posts:
Heresjonny · 05/04/2011 04:51

it's all scarey, every religion

Punkatheart · 05/04/2011 08:01

They talk with one voice - same phrases and excuses. Absolutely brainwashed. If one of them at the top has a crazy idea (Obama is the antichrist, for example) it filters down and becomes reality.

What I want to know is what happens if one of their children gets cancer? A young child perhaps? Do they celebrate that? Do they still look after the child?

I think there was a lot more under the surface here and although some of them seemed clear-headed in a way, others had wild-eyed signs of mental illness. Shirley was an example.

I had mouth open for a lot of it. They are so ridiculous and offensive that you actually stop listening to them...

jennymac · 05/04/2011 12:48

I think that they thrive on all the attention they get from the public no matter how negative. People would be better just laughing at them and then completely ignoring them and they would probably get fed up. Hard to do though if it was your son's funeral they were picketing. Their religion seems largely based on fear, and you could tell that even the girls who had left were scared of going to hell.

noddyholder · 05/04/2011 12:49

I thought it was very lazy of him to go back and then not tackle them harder. I do like him but he needs some new material
