i tried it once for five mins and didn't like it.

Rohanda · 21/03/2011 23:58

keep missing it!

friend told me of the scene where somone was told £20 means a 'blowjob', like a £50 is a 'monkey' or whatever. She then goes onto offer a plumber a 'blowjob' to fix some pipes, and offers the same to his mate. wish I'd seen it.

womma · 22/03/2011 09:16

No

FoofffyShmoofffer · 22/03/2011 09:42

No Not at all.

CrystalStair · 22/03/2011 09:47

No

Curiousmama · 22/03/2011 09:50

No, heard people raving, watched it with jaw open.

suwoo · 22/03/2011 09:53

My mum recommended it to me and DH. What is it with mothers liking it?

tiredofchallenge · 22/03/2011 10:00

No.

My dad recommended it, and it was so horrendously bad I am beginning to wonder about his sanity. Totally jaw dropping that anyone liked it. I would have switched off after 5 mins, but I was waiting for the funny bits he'd assured me were there!

Punkatheart · 22/03/2011 11:03

It's very coarse and crass, isn't it? It's clumsy - without the whimsical wit of something like Father Ted.

It just seems old-fashioned, an ego vehicle for one comedian - who appears to ad-lib quite a lot....

bruffin · 22/03/2011 13:00

Yes love it, it can be a bit odd, but some bits have me almost wetting myself. DH likes it as well.

lorelilee · 22/03/2011 13:03

It is absolutely brilliant. Been a long time since I've laughed out loud so many times in half an hour!

My mam and dad like it as well, my mam made me watch it and got all huffy when I wasn't in hysterics.

It's ok, wouldn't watch it religiously though.

muddyangels123 · 22/03/2011 13:10

I love it. Reminds me of my MIL Grin

Buda · 22/03/2011 13:11

I have only seen it once but found it very funny. Mainly because I am from Dublin - a very similar area to that depicted - and just the accents make me laugh! It reminds me of home. Blush

It is a complete over-caricature of a certain type of Irish mother. In fact a Dublin mother.

I think it started as a comedy sketch and was made into a series. I suspect that they have to keep pushing the boundaries and running out of the really funny stuff that it started with.

kittya · 22/03/2011 19:06

Isn't he married to the blonde one in rl?

Buda · 22/03/2011 19:17

Don't know I'm afraid.

TheGrimSweeper · 22/03/2011 23:13

it's hillarious. It's aired as is - no edits. Shot infront of studio audience - so live but aired later iyswim Confused Produces some funny bits

Saggyoldclothcatpuss · 22/03/2011 23:20

I love it! Its funny, naughty, wierd, juvenile, and isnt full of highbrow political satire! For a change, its lovely! It is quite simple, but I like that. I love the Ad Libbing, last night when he met the camera man in the kitchen was brilliant! "Dermot, theres a man here to talk about the wedding video"! Its a refreshing change.
And, it reminds me of my Great Granny Agnes!

salsmum · 23/03/2011 00:41

Love it Grin....my partner managed to download the feature films of the series but they were not good and many gags that i'd already heard in the programme were repeated in the films.

bruffin · 23/03/2011 07:39

My favorite bit was when he walked from one set to another to find his handbag!

Saggyoldclothcatpuss · 23/03/2011 09:18

Yes! 'My feckin tablets are in there!' classic! She is so familiar!!

MollysChambers · 23/03/2011 09:39

Love it!

otisdriftwood · 23/03/2011 18:33
