Am sobbing my way through it, it's heartbreaking. Does she die do you think? I should stop watching it, it's so sad.

mmmitsdelicious · 01/03/2011 21:30

It is so sad Sad
i think she does pass away at the end.

CarGirl · 01/03/2011 21:30

I am tired and have PMT, I have just watched the toughest place to be a midwife which was incredibly sad but this is just heart wrenching Sad

PictureThis · 01/03/2011 21:35

I'm bawling.

indiechick · 01/03/2011 21:37

Oh god, her mother's had cancer. It's just so sad.

PictureThis · 01/03/2011 21:37

OMG this poor woman. How much crap has she had to face in her life!

BellaMagnificat · 01/03/2011 21:37

Oh My Goodness what more could this amazing woman have been asked to deal with?

BigusBumus · 01/03/2011 21:41

Am gripped and bawling my head off. So so so so sad. Some people have such sad problems to deal with..... makes mine seem so crap. Hugely humbling.....Sad

BellaMagnificat · 01/03/2011 21:42

But what an amazing woman her Mum is. Amazing.

Perpetuallypregnant · 01/03/2011 21:50

This is so sad. I'm watching it with12 yo dd1 we are both :(

Imagine watching your child going backwards when the natural thing is for them to get better at things..... I know people have to face things like this but - wow she's amazing.

Leah seems very happy though which is clearly a credit to her mum and lovely family.

CarGirl · 01/03/2011 21:58

Sad Sad Sad

tulpe · 01/03/2011 21:58

What a genuinely lovely and warm family. This is a heartbreaking story and like everyone else I am in floods of tears :(

DH was asking how I could bare to watch it. He has disappeared into the study. I think he is feeling a bit raw too.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 01/03/2011 22:02

I could only watch half of it, we had to wait 2 years to find out DD did not after all have a metabolic disease like Leah (we were told she probably did) can understand how her parents feel all too well.

megapixels · 01/03/2011 22:03

I was really moved by it too. What an amazing mother, the dad seems nice too.

Perpetuallypregnant · 01/03/2011 22:07

God that last bit with the music set me off big style.

With all they are going through they still enjoy life which is what makes you think the most...

slartybartfast · 01/03/2011 22:49

what a lovely girl she was
and both parents too

goingmadinthecountry · 01/03/2011 23:02

I want to go to wake mine up right now. What lovely people. Hopefully I can be a bit of a nicer mum tomorrow and try to enjoy each day a bit more as it happens.

newyorker1810 · 02/03/2011 20:44

I cant believe mmmitsdelicious has suggested she passed away at the end. How upsetting for any friend or family member to read this.

A thousand hugs to the parents and family and friends affected by the story and I hope they get courage to continue providing for Leah's life while she is still on this earth.

Bluebell99 · 02/03/2011 21:00

I think you are being a little harsh on mmimitsdelicious, newyorker1810. I think the voiceover Lesley Sharpe was very negative about Leah's prognosis.
She is a lovely girl and her mother is amazing. I also found it very distressing to watch.

pud1 · 02/03/2011 21:22

does any one know if this will be repeated. when my dd2 was in hspital i met a little boy with Niemann-Pick disease. his mum was a real insparation. have just realised i have missed the program

slartybartfast · 02/03/2011 23:09

it shoudl be on 4OD

newyorker1810 · 04/05/2011 20:12
