Where is holby meant to be?

Sudden heated debate in our house! Clear shots of suspension bridge at beginning tonight, but I thought holby was meant to be in Yorkshire! I know it's filmed in Bristol.

Bristol, when they started was very strong South West Accent.

It's always been in Bristol, and is actually filmed there. dunno why, because you never get to see further than the entrance of the hospital.

Bristol, never heard anything about it been in Yorkshire.

Casualty was based in Bristol and is filmed here at the moment, then like lots other it will be moving to Wales. Holby is filmed in London - the outside shots of the Hospital are the same as the old 60's/70's programme UFO.

Duffy's in the first series was very strong ( and how sad am I to remember), so I think generally South West.

But Casualty is the A&E dept for Holby City so still technically set in South West.

Remember the first scene where Charlie drove over the Suspension Bridge and appeared to drive all the way around Bristol in a sort of ass backwards way - would have taken him all day if he'd really driven that route! Have been in the background of a few scenes in Clifton years ago!!

Ah, just me then! Will eat humble pie.

Casualty used to be Bristol, but I think they film it in Cardiff now. Accents are discernable but generic, so no-one feels left out.

I did see them filming the other day down by the docks/Redcliffe area if that helps (could see ambulances with Holby on them!). Duffy's accent got less and less "Bristolian" as time went on cause noone could understand her apparently.

I used to love watching Casualty when I was a teenager. There was some doctor I had a crush on. He had an affair with a nurse. He might have been called Julian.
