New style masterchef starts tonight

it's supposed to be like the Aussie format; but not sure what that is exactly!

Over the course of the two audition programmes, the 20 best cooks are chosen to don the MasterChef apron and go through to the main competition, held for the first time in a purpose-built new MasterChef Headquarters. The 20 then go on to face some of the most intense and exciting challenges ever filmed for the competition. Each week over the remaining 13 shows they will be whittled down until the most talented amongst them takes the title of MasterChef Champion...

i think they are trying to make it more like the aussie format (which is far superior by a long shot IMO) but i reckon it will fall short on quite a few things as the aussie one relies on a lot of sponsership for the food, prizes etc
