'A Place in Greece' - anyone else think it's a big set up?

Anyone else think the whole thing looks wooden, stilted and unnatural? I'm sure the programme makers come up with jolly situations which Brian and Andrew then act out for them.

Eg, last night when Brian supposedly didn't turn up for work for 3 days, if that was real I'm sure he would've been sacked. All we saw was his boss sitting in the bar looking wooden repeatedly saying 'I have not seen him for days'

Or is it just me?

God how that programme annoys me, if they are always skint how come they managed to stay in a luxurious 5 star hotel!! And, if I hear another thing about that bl**dy window, I am going to throw a brick at the television. I love the narrator though - he takes the p out of them no end. Did you watch the other one about Lee & Cheryl - it was no better

Sadly, yes I did watch that, and the Slovakian one (4.30 is such a 'dead' time) I'm sure that was set up as well, did you see the one where he threw a bucket of cold water over his wife because it was a Slovakian tradition? She looked really unnatural in her response, which should have been to clock him one, but instead she just woodenly said 'what are you doing?'

The funniest one was last year when they lost Brians suitcase and he had to wear a mickey mouse vest. PMSL.

and when they were trying to sell their house in the UK and brian was getting really stroppy with a potential buyer, cuz he was laughing at the pink walls in the house.

I love this programme, must be set up though, their two friends who live on a boat have the patience of saints to put up with Brian.

DEFFO BRILL

I loved that too

when he came out and said you are not allowed to laugh -- with the t shirt

and the smallest people mover car in the world when they arrived at the airport in the beginning

Definately a set up - like when Brian 'forgot' to tell his friends that he had a female lodger staying in their room - then waited for the camera crew to film them finding her in her towel - ridiculous!!

I'd taped it for dh and he walked out of the room at that point!

JoolsToo · 14/10/2005 20:10

Yes - its' doing my bonce in but

I still watch it!

just to scoff

RTKMonherBROOMSTICK · 14/10/2005 20:10

ridiculus but very funny

It is last one next week

Lucycat · 14/10/2005 20:12

also it's funny that they've moved this series to the 'death slot' from the evening schedule!

Mind you 'A Place in France' with Nippi and Nigel wasn't much better......

LIZS · 14/10/2005 20:13

is this a second series or rerun though ?

tiredemma · 14/10/2005 20:17

i wish it was on at night so i could watch it, ive only caught one so far- when brian wanted to start up either a nightclub/taverna/cafe, and andrew was trying to put his foot down.

JoolsToo · 14/10/2005 20:19

RTKMonherBROOMSTICK · 14/10/2005 20:20
