glitter - I actually don't think I will.

My TV hasn't been on in the evening since The Apprentice finished.........

bulby · 16/02/2011 23:00

Well as far as I can see they've taking a fab cooking programme and changed it into another wanky 'talent' show without any cooking. I wonder if they have a few sob stories lined up for the next episode. The BBC mantra seems to be 'if it's not broken then we'll fuck it up as best we can'. There wasn't even a 'cooking doesn't get tougher than this'.

TragicallyisCuntinglyHip · 16/02/2011 23:11

If I heard "cooking doesn't get tougher than this" one more time my head will explode!

Habbibu · 16/02/2011 23:27

Oh Dear God. Just watching this on iPlayer and am bored senseless. What a crap format. The only good thing so far has been this thread. esp. "Tears of PURE LARD". I wept a little bit at that.

Am only at "sponge is as true as it gets woman yet". Can I get through the rest?

MrsKitty · 17/02/2011 06:23

Well. That was a big old pile of wank, wasn't it?

Why, why, why? No cooking, bloody 'friends & family' all over the place, and it was all so dark and dreary! I liked the old studio - always so bright and sunny.

I. Don't. Like. It. (But since there's nothing else on at the moment I shall carry on watching and hope desperately that things improve).

mousymouse · 17/02/2011 08:35

I don't like this new format. very dissapointed. will probably for the first time not continue watching it.

jennymac · 17/02/2011 08:55

Not liking the new format at all - hate the studio. Do you think that once the 20 have been picked they will go back to the old studio for the invention tests? Was very excited about it coming back on, but now don't think I will watch if it doesn't improve.

nymphadora · 17/02/2011 08:58

So it's not worth me watching the rest of the auditions then? Just let me know when the spanking starts Wink

mousymouse · 17/02/2011 09:04

I loved the invetion test. I'm quite good at that, seeing what is left in the fridge and producing something tasty...

CountDuckula · 17/02/2011 11:12

I really prefer the Australian format and am glad they have brought it over here. This is the slow bit. In the rounds you really get to see what the contestants can do.

BarbiesBeaver · 17/02/2011 11:39

Hate it. BBC can fuck off after ruining one of my favourite shows. Where were the close ups of trembling hands chopping veg, and the car crash first rounds with fish smothered in chocolate?

I don't want to see any friends and family and contestants rushing out in the apron to be hugged. Why has everything got to be like pissing X Factor? There is actually more than one type of person who watches TV BBC.

Why were Greg and John crying and shaking hands? Utter rubbish. Won't be watching anymore.

BarbiesBeaver · 17/02/2011 11:41

I would rather have watched an hour of Greg being spanked by John and then smothered in a lake of Hollandaise.

MyBoysHaveDogsNames · 17/02/2011 13:44

That was Boring. Watching again tonight though as apparently one of the women I used to work with gets through and I didn't see her last night. Am intrigued!

Rubbish format though, although liking the sulky tealady departure.

notnowbernard · 17/02/2011 13:46

I thought it was utter tripe

HATE the X-Factor music-in-background/friends and families style of it

It's ruined

TwoIfBySea · 17/02/2011 15:30

I stopped watching Masterchef UK after the utter swizz that made sweaty old posh bloke Peter win over the sweet Dean and proper cook from Gujarati. His step-daughter gave the game away when she came on to the Masterchef board on BBC chat and accidentally told a thread full of angry viewers that she was a tv producer. Peter made sure he won by constantly dumping his cooking partners in the crap and by being late on every course making the others lose their timings. God I can't believe I'm still pissed off at that!

Now there is another sweaty posh bloke called Peter who doesn't look like he could cook anything beyond what he's read in Good Food magazine. It does not bode well.

"I quit my high paid job to open a Gastro-pub..." God help us!

I thought Terry should have gotten in. He would have gained more from the experience.

TwoIfBySea · 17/02/2011 15:32

Oh and the stupid giggly idiot woman got in for a dessert my 9 year old dts would have no problem making but baking woman was derided for "simply baking."

And the one with the chef sister got through despite being an obviously mediocre cook.

If it is anything like the Aussie one they won't last long and then we can get on to the real cooking.

Bumperlicious · 17/02/2011 19:19

Watching the first one on iplayer. Pile of crap. Is it worth persevering?

Habbibu · 17/02/2011 19:59

No, but it does make you realise that the iplayer needs a proper fast forward. Just looked at the BBC's own POV page - almost unanimously slated!

glitterkitty · 17/02/2011 19:59

Maybe the first 2 are the crappy warm-up ones and the proper bit will come after auditions. Who is online watching tonight?!

Habbibu · 17/02/2011 20:01

What, to filter out the audience as well as the contestants, glitter?

Habbibu · 17/02/2011 20:02

If they so much as touch Masterchef: The Professionals... I guess we could set Monica on them.

glitterkitty · 17/02/2011 20:42

Habbibu...

Watching dosent get harder than this.
