Truffkin · 05/02/2011 00:03

Great stuff, I love the show and am looking forward to a new series!

Looking forwards to it - but I have to say I think I have been spoiled by watching the Australian version on Watch before Christmas.

Personally, I thought the format was SOOOO much better.

Significantly fewer "scallops on black pudding and green goo" as well! :-)

ChaosTrulyReigns · 05/02/2011 13:57

Ooh yes, I've been wondering what the new scallops with bacon or cauli puree will be.

It used to be jus with everything, - now it's foam and smears of sauce and peashoots. I like to see how far out of the sophisticated culinary loop I am Grin

MyBoysHaveDogsNames · 05/02/2011 14:27

But apparently the new series is based on the Australian format. Someone I know is on it........

TwoIfBySea · 05/02/2011 14:43

The Australian format totally blew the English version (not UK because it so rarely features anyone from NI, Scotland or Wales) out of the water. I might even go back to watching it now.

But first I'll be watching NZ Masterchef tomorrow! Hope they're as good as the Aussies!

(I sometimes miss the original format, very comforting Sunday afternoon viewing even if it was a bit middle-England it felt right!)

BaroqueAroundTheClock · 05/02/2011 14:49

oh no - I watched some of the Australian version and didn't like it Sad

alexsdad · 05/02/2011 15:07

You had to get into it I think, Baroque. I watched one episode early on and didn't like it - but then got hooked. It was sort of like a REALLY NICE "The Apprentice" meeting Masterchef. You really got to know the contestants, and they were working together more than against each other.

Really liked the masterclasses as well. Actually got to learn something.

BaroqueAroundTheClock · 05/02/2011 15:11

oh no! I like the sound of that even less - I watched a couple of the Aussie ones - really didn't take to it.

I LOVE the The Apprentice......

sparkle101 · 05/02/2011 15:54

Cooking doesn't get tougher than this! Am v v v v v v excited too.

FrozenNorthPole · 05/02/2011 16:35

formerdiva · 05/02/2011 17:50

Can't wait to see shouty Greg shovelling puddings into his wide open mouth like a greedy 5 year old. I love it!

ChaosTrulyReigns · 16/02/2011 20:09

I know I was, ahem, tipsy when I started this thread, but it's still worth bumping - 50 mins to go.
