Its sposed to start on 108 on Tues - but 108 is still showing as Sky3. Will it suddenly change on Monday night?

I've been on the website and even the tv listings on there are showing the sky 3 programs, it says atlantic is launching at 9pm. I wanted to set up my series links before they started!

nulgirl · 30/01/2011 18:12

I was going to ask this too. Keep on checking to see if it has appeared yet. Am desperate to set up all my series links. Think they are doing to rehash of the whole planner on 1st Feb and moving lots of channels to highlight all the hd channels and relegate all the non-hd channels - sky1 and sky1 hd will be swapping places.

coastgirl · 30/01/2011 18:13

I'm the same - if I don't do my series links early I end up missing the first episodes of things and never catching up. I need Boardwalk Empire, the Sopranos from the start (never seen it) and Curb Your Enthusiasm (ditto) at the very least!

nulgirl · 30/01/2011 18:19

Six feet under from the start as well. Yippee

AMumInScotland · 30/01/2011 18:43

Same here! I guess because the channel number is already in use, and tey are reshuffling so many other, they can't det it up in advance. We keep checking the HD channel list to see if they've popped it on somwehere, but no luck Sad I want to get the recordings set up!

nulgirl · 30/01/2011 19:15

Considering just biting the bullet and getting sky+hd. I would love to see all these new programmes in hd. Does anyone else have it? Is it worth the extra money?

clangermum · 30/01/2011 19:39

nulgirl - dim question here, are you meaning you want to see them, or you want to see them in hd? Just wondering if there's a non-hd option, as everywhere I've seen it advertised it mentions hd (which would rule us out Sad )

so many series I've seen but would still like to record from the start, like Sopranos and Big Love

and of course Boardwalk Empire

and the next series of Mad Men

Hardandsleazy · 30/01/2011 20:50

Nor can i - was wondering if we had To pay more or sign up but we already pay an eye watering amount for a bunch of stuff so will be Hmm if have to pay more

Hardandsleazy · 30/01/2011 20:53

link just checked on here so should be ok but think it isn't automatic If you get sky via another route (eg virgin, bt)

TallulahdoesthehulainHawaii · 30/01/2011 20:54

HD really isn't worth it IMO, DH says it would only be worth it for football...

We spent ages flicking between the normal channel and the HD and couldn't see any difference whatsoever.

We just have Sky+ and are happy with that, my sister also had HD and also cancelled the subscription. They still have the HD box though and can't watch any of the Anytime channels.

Hardandsleazy · 30/01/2011 20:55

Re hd we have it (dh reckons good for sport) IMHO if you have a decent tv (ie anything in last five or so years) then there isn't a huge amount of difference between hd and normal on most shows and on sky plus the recording is more dodgy (more frequent fails and takes up a load of memory)

AfternoonsandCoffeespoons · 30/01/2011 22:14

Ah was wondering about this too! Thanks for the link Hard, looks like its 173 if you're not subscribed to HD. Haven't noticed that anywhere else.

AMumInScotland · 31/01/2011 14:46

I'm surprised at the people not finding much difference between HD and normal versions of the same program - I find there's a very noticeable improvement from the HD! But maybe that's because we're watching it on a 50inch TV? So you maybe need to consider what size of TV you intend to watch the HD on, to see if it will be worth it.

TallulahdoesthehulainHawaii · 31/01/2011 15:27

Maybe it is the TV Amum?

We have 42 inch full HD LCD, my DSIS has the same one - so maybe that has something to do with it?

AMumInScotland · 31/01/2011 15:34

I'm quite surprised you don't see a difference then, that's pretty much the same size... Oh well, I guess it just varies!

TallulahdoesthehulainHawaii · 31/01/2011 15:52

Maybe your eyesight is a lot better than mine Grin

AMumInScotland · 31/01/2011 16:06

Hmmm... maybe I wouldn't have noticed before getting glasses? Grin

TallulahdoesthehulainHawaii · 31/01/2011 16:25

See how much trouble you made for yourself!

I really need to wear my glasses Blush

TracyK · 31/01/2011 18:12

I still haven't got the listings up yet - I've looked at 173 and tomorrow it is still showing Livingit +1.
I need to set up my planner!!!!!!!

clangermum · 31/01/2011 19:14

Thanks for the link Hard

Oddly, when I check the listings for 173, at 9pm tomorrow there's a show Let The Stories Begin, where various people are talking about shows to come on Sky Atlantic, but other than that the listings still aren't looking like they've been updated yet here either TracyK

itching to get those links in....

TracyK · 31/01/2011 19:31

grrrrrrr - I shall check as soon as my alarm goes off at 6.30am!

The last time there was a big change on Sky here in Ireland, it took effect at midnight and was just there the next day.

I think this will be similar.

nulgirl · 01/02/2011 06:57

At the risk of looking slightly obsessive, Sky Atlantic is still not there. They have rejigged some of the channels but haven't listed Sky Atlantic or moved the HD channels. There are tantalising spaces in the guide where channels 108 and 173 should be so must be coming at some point today

Hardandsleazy · 01/02/2011 08:19

Lol - must both be obsessed as I had same fear

LaurieFairyonthetreeEatsCake · 01/02/2011 08:24

Is virgin getting it? Anyone know?
