I would love to know this too - had faithfully watched every episode and it is bloody annoying not to know what happens.

BluddyMoFo please get on the case Grin

After the last series, I read on t'internet they have decided not to comission another series. But hopefully I am wrong as I loved it. Even though I had trouble sleeping after watching it, because I was too busy lying awake and plotting what I would do if I was a 'survivor'...should I drive round and see if any friends and family are alive? or hijack the nearest 4x4 and head out for self sustaining small holding inthe country with its own water source???

Clearly I need to get out more....

I read the same and was also gutted. It was a fav for all my family and we were dismayed when we found out that a decent story, well acted, had been dropped against all the other tosh they put out and recommission every year (beginnings of a little rant here).

Short answer: No.

"Outcasts" was intended to come back in the same slot but has been bumped to February.

MardyBra · 27/01/2011 15:05

Aww - it was fun. I'm old enough to remember the original series in the 70s, and quite enjoyed this one although it was a bit formulaic. (But it did have some nice male totty to look at - can't remember the actors names).

They definitely left it open for another series at the end of the last one.

UnquietDad · 27/01/2011 15:33

They did leave it open - but that is a deliberate decision by the producers/writers, and not the BBC top brass. A lot of dramas end the season on a cliffhanger these days to give them more ammunition when it comes to requesting a renewal! To be honest, if you still don't know by the time the final episode has been aired, it's usually a "no".

teenyweenytadpole · 27/01/2011 16:18

Aw, what a bummer, I loved this!! How else can I get my Max Beesley fix? (and lay awake at night planning how to survive in the event of a global virus/zombie scenario?)

Post-apocalyptic doom is my fave genre! Damn you bbc peeps...

CubaCat · 27/01/2011 22:53

Damn. Now I'll be forever wondering what happened to Max's character after he stowed away on that plane...

inthesticks · 29/01/2011 14:01

DS2 and I used to watch this and he is very fond of apocalypse planning. I also remember the 1970s series Mardybra Wink

BackOnceAgain · 29/01/2011 23:07

Oh yeah, max on the plane, I'd forgotten!! How very dare they leave us (excuse the pun) up in the air like that.
