DH and I just chatting before he goes off for work for the rest of the week, we were discussing great exits from telly programmes - he knows how traumatised I have been by Harry in Silent Witness (yes I have seen the plot giveaway but won't reveal here), Joseph and Connie from Holby (cried when Connie left[bsad]), Lucas and Adam from Spooks and then I remembered that Harry has gone from Spooks too, when DH said wouldn't Connie (Amanda Mealing) be a fabulous new 'Harry'!!!! YES I shouted in the middle of the cafe, how bloody fantastic she would be!!! A ball-breaker in charge of MI5!! BBC is you're listening.............. Any thoughts anyone?

Yes I know I should get out more, but since DH is away all week working and I have two DDs. I have to get my 'thrills' in the evenings from somewhere and it is usually the BBC [bconfused] [bblush]

LOL I must be getting forgetful, did Harry leave Spooks?

Butterbur · 25/01/2011 12:32

I loved Connie. It was great to see an older woman who was portrayed as strong, resourceful and intelligent. It was a shock when she went to the dark side, but a wonderfully dramatic one. And secretly I liked the way that an older woman could also be a cold blooded and efficient killer.

caspered · 25/01/2011 12:33

Wasn't he made the scapegoat by the Home Secretary and told to fall on his sword? Or did I dream this?? If I did, I am even sadder than even I thought [bgrin] still think Connie would be superb though!!!

Connie in Spooks was blown to atoms - Connie Beauchamp is from Holby, Google tells me, Butterbur.

Harry only faces an investigation and a probably sacking - that's nothing.

jeee · 25/01/2011 12:39

If we're going to transfer Holby City characters to MI5, I want Anton Meyer or Ric Griffin - both would be better.

sfxmum · 25/01/2011 12:39

I think I probably would have remembered if Spooks Harry had died/ left for good, he is great
as for other Harry well awful death (did he actually?) but I don't like his character

Butterbur · 25/01/2011 12:55

Actually, I didn't say Beauchamp, because it didn't sound right, and I couldn't be arsed to Google.

I have now, and it's Connie James.

Pterosaur · 25/01/2011 12:57

I know you didn't Butterbur, but that's who the OP was talking about.

Butterbur · 25/01/2011 13:08

Oh yes - I misread the OP, and thought it said what I wanted it to say. Blush

Pterosaur · 25/01/2011 13:09

I agree - Connie James would make a formidable section head were it not for the treachery and the deadness.

caspered · 25/01/2011 13:10

I was talking about connie from Holby, think Anton would be great as well jeee, though I think Ric is a bit too nice! (yes I know they are only actors and the alternative world I am living in is only in my head!)

OP posts:
jeee · 25/01/2011 13:12

How can you see Ric as 'a bit too nice'? Look at his gambling problem, dozens of wives, and various problem kids. He'd fit right in with Section D (or whichever letter it is).

jeee · 25/01/2011 13:13

But Meyer is still the sexiest consultant ever to walk down the corridors of Holby.

caspered · 25/01/2011 13:19

Loved loved loved Meyer's voice. I know all the problems Ric has but I still think deep down he is too nice after all would you have married Lola or Tandy if you weren't a bit too nice [bwink]

Harry hasn't gone! like Pterosaur said it will just be an investigation or something. I think he has been suspended at least twice before but he always gets back.

They simply can't have Spooks without Harry

caspered · 25/01/2011 19:49

phew, thats a relief! I do think they could find a role for connie though

Well, there is a vacancy.
